But honestly, what do you think are our chances of making it all the way to the finals? What do you think is our weakness? I think our main and almost only weakness is slow run rate in the first 15 overs. Time and time again, we depend on the last few overs to take off. We also don't have any sloggers save for Dhoni. If Dhoni is not firing on a day, I feel we are going to end up with low run rate. We would have ended up with 150 today instead of 170+ if not for Dhoni. Morkel was such a player before, but he is terrible so far. The SR CKS players is not bad, but that's due to every one firing on the same day. Dhoni - 155 Badri, Morkel , Raina - 130s Hussey - 122 What do you think? Can you think of anything else?
spectre Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I see many weaknesses Lower middle order has virtually not had a hit at all Raina is indifferent form, not consistent and reliable as he has always been For some reason, they play first 10 overs too cautiously Albie's bowling is becoming a liability I would send Saha to open and give him the license to throw his bat around in first 6 overs. He did pretty well for KKR in the top order role. I am very impressed with this guy's commitment, real livewire in the field.Top class!
yoda Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Dhoni from post match press conference: It is very important not to lose wickets, it is not about getting 9 run per over, it is about getting 7-7/5 which gives you a platform. We have got power down the order. There is fair amount of batting behind me which means I can go after the bowling. I agree with the 7-7.5 strategy with wickets in hand.
