Make or Break for Rohit?

I think if he doesnt cash on the windies tour, then he will not get another oppurtunity for a long long time... not because the selectors will lose out on patience... but there are a few hungry for success young batsmen in the domestic setup.

I doubt it. I think everyone realises his potential and feels its only a matter of time before he comes good. I would have made him sit out a bit longer, too early to be recalled

I think the selectors may finally lose patience with him if he doesn't click in the next few months/series' because despite all his amazing talent he has, he's yet to prove it on the international stage.

If the bcci babus learn to select in in the format he would succeed the most then maybe he can play to his potential. Rohit playing ODI's is like a middle ground for him to fail. He cant be on the attack or play slowly. He only has two gears, that for t2020 or tests. He has style of play for only those two formats. ODI's just feck him over with the kind of style that is needed. Even though it shouldnt be too hard to adjust.

Sorry' date='i am not buying this theory at all.its not hard to rotate the strike in odis,.[/quote'] im not really presenting it as argument but his approach to his innings is pretty one dimensional. Either play a couple of balls and start hitting = t20/20 or play tuk tuk all day = tests He cant seem to find the rhythm/pace/balance that is needed for ODI's, by getting singles, occasional boundary etc.

Rohit is a good talent but I'm afraid to say if he is not from Mumbai, he wouldnt have got half the chances he gets. I have seen players who havent done half as bad as him get dropped after a few matches. If he doesnt do well in the next series, talented or not its clear selectors should look past him. I personally think he has all the shots in the book but he doesnt seem to have the hunger to do well on the international stage, to iron out his weaknesses and value his wicket. He plays too many loose shots too early and doesnt make his starts count.
