Misu243 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 The dude is on point here. No matter how much they deny it..this is reality in Pakistan. It is the complete opposite of Indian society which is very open religiously and has no signs of radical islamists like those thriving in Pakistan thanks to the corrupt government. How many more fatwas are these clowns going to issue against Rushdie? Don't think anyone really cares :cantstop::cantstop:
yoda Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 what do you expect from a Pakistan hater that's like hmmm most of the world now. :giggle:
Desi Cartman Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 lol he actually said "Pakistan Sucks" ROFL-istan
Utalk Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 When was the last time this idiot or any of you went to Pakistan to know the ground realities. My God blind hatred has no limits. Yes things have become bad since 9/11 and talibaan BS but they are nowhere near as bad as this ignorant fool tries to make out. I grew up 8 miles from LOC in Pakistani Kashmir and went to school where there were 1000+ students and out of all those we have had number of doctors engineers and lawyers. On the other hand one guy went to Indian side of Kashmir to fight and he was part of JKLF not an ISI backed organisation. Even now I have friends and family living there and go back every year.Things are bad in North west but Pakistan is a scene from some horror movie that Rushdi tries to make out to get applause the yanks.

Why is it that, only Pakis who don't live in Pakistan paint a rosy picture of Pakistan? Never heard any good things from someone living in Paskistan. MAy be they know the truth and don't live in the world of Peter Pan, like that pakis living in the west do.

I think what you say quite fair BUT, I think it is fair presumption to make now about Pakistan esp. with the radicalization we have seen across the board in last two decades. To me Rushdie's statement are sort of validated with the whole Taseer murder incident and the response it got from average educated Pakistani. That was simply shocking to me.

His choice of words may have been provocative but some of the points are worth pondering upon. 1) Lack of freedom of expression of religious views (especially about the blasphemy law) 2) Radicalization 3) Drug trade (I am not sure of the extent, but its very common in Afghanistan) 4) AIDS problem (dont know the level of this) 5) Urban gangster culture - weaponry available easily in peshawar and Karachi and lot of target killings. 6) Huge level of corruption 7) Ethnic tensions
ravishingravi Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Excellent article on the Pakistani "middle class" http://www.outlookindia.com/article.aspx?271931 Most Pakistanis probably believe that 9/11 was an “inside job” and Mumbai 26/11was staged by some rightwing Hindu colonel. This amazing level of denial and disinformation that was carefully cultivated by the deep state has resulted in the present blowback...

King Tendulkar Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 .On the other hand one guy went to Indian side of Kashmir to fight and he was part of JKLF not an ISI backed organisation. . Another terrorist scum. Who seems to be suppoted by you. You seem desperate to point out he was some voluntary nutter jihadi , instead of the pak govt supported nutters. What was your point? You only prove that pakistans are nutters who want to go over border to kill indians, seems rushdie was correct, as your first hand evidence supports that. Trust me you aint going to find any indians knowing another indian who went over to pakistan to commit terrorism like your paki mate did. Shows the difference in the people of the two countries. You have proved that pakistan does indeed suck. Is your jihadi mate still alive? Or has he joined the virgins?
Utalk Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I am not defending him but just pointing out he was the only one who went that way.He was not a Pakistani but a Kashmiri who had half of his family on the other side.JKLF are known in pakistan as traitors and 80% of their kashmiri leadership was killed in the valley by the likes of pakistan backed hizb-ul-mujahideen in mid 90s. Again for him and his kind it was a freedom struggle and me or you might not agree but thats a fact that cant be denied. Read the point above. Never heard about him since.
ravishingravi Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I have a simple question to you mate since you are one of the more objective posters. Do you believe it is wrong to label Pakistan a terrorist state at this point ? since you are closer to Pakistan and we probably don't see much other than what the Pakistani media shows us tell me if you see any positives right now. Genuine question.
cricfan001 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 As long as Pakistan continues to use "religion" as a strategic asset for creating tensions across the border by sponsoring terrorists like they do in Kashmir or in Mumbai, it will continue to reap the ill effects itself more than it can chew. These Jihadis have outgrown the Pakistani military/ISI and they operate on their own and kill them as they wish. Like they are doing in heartland of Pakistan navy in PNS Mehran and also in other places like Peshawar recently. When religion is used to create hatred between people, then that country is doomed. Pakistan will continue to be in chaos until it dismantles its state sponsored terrorism and wipes out these Jihadis/religious fanatics. Also, it seems in Pakistan not many religious leaders condemn these dastardly suicide attacks. Failure to do so, obviously then motivates these ignorant Jihadis, that they would reap benefits in after life specially with that promised "virgin" pleasure and other stuff. They should stop blind hatred of India and close down their madrasas which foment hate for non-muslims. Pakistan also should stop this "muslim ummah" business and also not to meddle with internal affairs of other sovereign nations. If the above is not rectified soon, then Pakistan is doomed. I wish Pakistan to be stable and terror free BUT I also expect them not to send mercenaries/ terrorists to India and create problems for India.
