This is not an alternative opinion just sheer lunacy. If I was the only one to decide on this issue he would have been out long ago.

I only pointed to your great extrapolation and calibrations skills. Why take 1000 tams/gults, if 30/40 are enough. Thats all :dontknow:

All I can say is, you earned it with your over all hard work. I don't need to go into details, as you should be smart enough to figure it out by yourself, if not, nothing can convince you anyway. I don't really want to waste my time arguing about whether MBAs work as quants, specially on my vacation, so if you think they do go ahead and I am really sorry to have contradicted you based on what I know. Neither do I, as the claim you were arguing against, was never made. Enjoy your vacation, and I will go back to mine. Just a small PS : 400 quant specific jobs is actually quite a decent number to get from one website. On any specific day of the year, I would not think the world would have more than 1500 quant job openings and if a site captures roughly one third of those, then it's pretty good, IMO. But I am sure your email friends would know more, so I won't argue further. PS : And if you would notice a lot of jobs on the site are not entry level jobs, but senior/experienced positions which are rarer. Your "PS" should answer why it was not the most appropriate example in the context. The site was clearly for lateral hiring - which is why I did not bother checking further. Whereas what I suggested - "some ppl post-MBA would prefer quant-kind-of job" - implied out-of-campus placements. And I think you know why there is wide range of electives available (esp in all the good institutes), be it CS electives for non-CS people, or Quant electives for MBA people... - so that (this is just one of the reasons), people with sufficient motivation/passion can afford to change their mind and fight for those entry level jobs. Also, job and education scene in India is very much different from what it is in US/Europe. Personally, for desi-wallstreet quant job, I would rather 'risk' a motivated top guy from IISc / IIM / IIT than some PhD Maths from AiriGairi University. [no, I do not have blind-faith in degrees/ranks. we all have seen enough exceptions either ways].
