One win could be a coincidence but you can't argue with such a stellar record within 4 years. As for me if I am given a choice who would you rather have in my team - Tendulkar or Dhoni, I would pick Dhoni everytime. Dhoni knows how to win and that's what matters for me, i.e. to see my team win.

Moronic fans like you who have the memory of a sieve are the worst thing for Indian cricket. Yes it was Sachin's fault that we lost the 2003 WC finals because the bowlers gave away 360 runs. And BTW, who was the only batsman who stood up in both the finals of CB series and won it for us? If tomorrow a new guy comes along and wins a few series, you would be the first one to curse Dhoni and put him down. Just like people like you put down Ganguly now and have already forgotten what Dravid has done for us. Every Indian wants to see India win but its stupid fans like you who want to put down one icon to praise another. Yep Dhoni might be the greatest but you dont have to put Sachin down to praise him which you constantly seem to be doing for some odd reason. Indain team has both Sachin and Dhoni currently so the stupid choice you seem to be suggesting does not arise but you bring it up because your agenda is not to praise Dhoni but to put down Sachin As for Sachin's captaincy, he might not be the best captain around but he sure does get a lot of flak over other captains who lose similarly. No on will blame Vettori today though he is in the same situation as Sachin today. Apart from Dhoni, who is the best captain around, which other captain has really stood out in the IPL? While I'm no fan of Sachin the captain, I think the game today would have been lost even if we had a better captain. In the form Gayle is in, you have to get that lucky break against him. We didn't. We weren't even close. Spinners, seamers, slingers were all hit. These guys were better than us today. We lost to the better team , though we could have given them a better fight. For the next season I want to see a new captain and maybe another specialist spinner+hitter all rounder. Thats my wish list. Your main argument was that you would have lost the game and Sachin is not to be blamed whereas my contention was that Sachin was the main reason Mumbai lost and you never know what could have happened if Mumbai had a better captain and they had gone with Malinga against Gayle. I really don't understand how we are saying the same thing :hmmmm2:

He is to be blamed for poor captaincy throughout the IPL. But the eliminator game against RCB was an instance where MI needed more than just good captaincy.

The reason Gayle was in form was coz Sachin allowed him to by allowing him to get his eye in against Abu Nachim. Now look at Dhoni - his best bowler is Ashwin and he opened with Ashwin against Gayle and look what happened. Mumbai's best bet to get Gayle was Malinga and I wouldn't have been surprized if Malinga had knocked over Gayle early as it's extremely difficult to take on Malinga when you are new to the wicket. SRT allowed Gayle the luxury to face off against Nachim making Malinga a non-factor for the rest of the game. I mean if you give away 27 runs off the first over the match is already lost and Bangalore could see off Malinga negating his threat.
