Sri Lankan Cricket in terrible condition after 3 yrs.

But what about Bengal tigers' date=' even more retarded :cantstop:[/quote'] But BangBros don't take themselves seriously and have a "holier than thou" attitude. In case of Lankans they were seriously b**ching about India's test ranking with Sangakkara openly questioning it. Now they know what it is to draw a series in SA and we were in a great position to win the series as well but for a special knock from Kallis in the 3rd Test.

lanka, bangaldesh and pawkistan should all combine to form one cricket team. they are all too *****y to be separate. its the only solution.
Paranavitana Hafeez Sanga (wk&capt) Younis Misbah/Mahela Matthews Sakib Ajmal Cheema Fernando Gul :hysterical: Though the Saffers would still run through this team in South Africa.:hysterical:

Agreed. Sanga has always been very arrogant.

IN the last 10 years away from home... they su*k big time... in this time period even with murali they have actually won 11 games while losing 19 but out of those 11 , four are against bangladesh in bangladesh, two against zimboks and two against pakistan when they were in the most awful form... apart from that they have one win against the kiwis, one against the poms and one against the long struggling windies... and this kind of record is really pathetic to say the least when you have the likes of vass, murali, jayasuriya, mahela and sanga in your line-up... serious the lanka lineup is filled with FTB batsmen and STD(spin track demons) bowlers In the same period however they have lost only 7 times at home... 4 agianst the aussies, once against pakistan and twice by the INDIANS, which is pretty impressive,... as they haven't lost a test against saffers at home in the last 10 years plus even england or new zealand or west indies havent won in srl while they have one victory each in all of these 3 nations...

ICC pays part of Sri Lanka players dues directly The ICC paid 46% of the fees due to Sri Lanka's cricketers for the World Cup, ESPNcricinfo has learned. The payment of US$2 million was made directly into the players' bank accounts, instead of routing it through Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), on December 16. The Sri Lankan players, who had not been paid since the tournament ended in April, were owed a total of $4.3 million (25% of the country's participation fee). While the money was paid directly, it was arranged with assistance from SLC, who told the ICC of the amounts owed to each player and provided their respective bank account details, a person with knowledge of the payments said. Tony Irish, the chief executive of the South African Players Association, said that arrangement to pay the players was negotiated between the Federation of International Cricketers' Association (FICA) and the Sri Lankan Players Association (SLCA). Earlier this month the Sri Lanka sports minister, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, said the ICC had agreed to pay US$2 million to SLC and that the coach and players would be paid out of those funds. The SLCA had also contacted FICA for assistance over the delay in the cricketers' salaries for series following the World Cup this year. SLC ran into financial problems after running up debts of $32.5 million to finance the building of two international stadiums in Hambantota and Pallekele, and to renovate the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, for the World Cup. All three stadiums have since been handed over to the military because the board was struggling to maintain them. http://www.espncricinfo.com/srilanka/content/current/story/546251.html

I am really sad to see SL cricket in such a bad state. I must admit that the bigger fault lies in SLC who are no longer able to select players on merit...otherwise its not explainable that quality bowler like Randiv is constantly neglected. Obviously...batting has taken a tumble speically under Dilshan as a leader. He himself plays rash stroke..is badly out of form. What else can be expected from teh rest of the batsman. I have seen SL team in a much better state in its past. Cricket needs better quality teams...to bring back more excitement in it. Paying the players on time should be a good start. Cant blame SL players performance in SA. If I am not payed for so long...my moral will be down also.

^ Most players in the team have ipl contracts and have been playing for years for SL, so its not like they'd be on streets just because they weren't paid, playing for country should be enough motivation for any player. Their batting has been awful, especially Dilshan. One can imagine that it would only get worse once Mahila and Sanga retire. Its time they sacked him.
