Roshanrocks Posted September 18, 2011 Author Posted September 18, 2011 Test Cricket W-L Ratio falls from 5.00 to 2.14
Sid Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 First series loss had to come one day but no one would have thought it would come like this debacle.
ganeshran Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Yup no one expected such a series defeat. Hope this actually leads to some lessons learnt and BCCI learns the importance of organizing more school level tournaments and U-14 and U-16s. This would be the best age to identify good players and provide them support to hone their skills. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for a talented player to show up on his own, and not trying to create the conditions for talent to be developed.
saneindian Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Tests stats - P 31, W 15, L 7 ODI stat- P 107, W 59, L 38 Will need to win the Eng and WI ODIs big and if possible whtewash the WI tests :((

BCCI's response to this debacle will be in the lines of...add another 3 day practice match somewhere in all future abroad tours....
Cricket Tragic Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Stack of home games coming up though. We have the tour of Australia and the next tour outside the SC is at the end of 2013.
ganeshran Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 BCCI's response to this debacle will be in the lines of...add another 3 day practice match somewhere in all future abroad tours.... Thats whats wrong. BCCI needs to change its line of thinking when it comes to getting a pool of players to choose from. We can take a leaf out of China's books and the way they prepared for Olympics. Kids were identified from 5 years old and trained to become good athletes. Cricket is a bit more complex and guess the age to start should be 8 or 9. The only way to achieve that would be more school level games, where atleast the zonal selectors visit regularly to spot potential players. With the number of players in our country, we should be have a much bigger pool of players to chose from, but systemic bureaucracy is becoming an impediment to cricket.
Trichromatic Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 1 win in last 8 test matches. :hmmm:
