FairCricket Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 do you guys think that there is any connection between ipl and sri lanka batting collapse ?
FairCricket Posted May 31, 2011 Author Posted May 31, 2011 sanga and mahela is the core of SL batting , these two didn't had the much time to prepare because of ipl
EnterTheVoid Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Yep. Sri Lanka are filled with sh!t players that got picked to play for sh!t teams in the IPL.
yoda Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Pls change title to "IPL and 2nd innings collapse after scoring 400 in first", cause that would help you draw better conclusions. :winky:
div Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 sanga and mahela is the core of SL batting ' date=' these two didn't had the much time to prepare because of ipl[/quote'] sanga, jaya, perera.Other 8 players had enough time,They should have drawn this match. sanga had a bad IPL, I think world cup final defeat still hurts him :haha:.
ganeshran Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 ok ask your board not to give them a NOC next time around.
Zap_Brannigan Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 I think it has more to do with most Sri lankan batsmen being FTBs than anything else.
gaurav92 Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 I think it has more to do with most Sri lankan batsmen being FTBs than anything else. This.
saneindian Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 The batting averages of Lankan batsmen in England Sanga- 28 Mahela 37 Samarweera- 12 Dilshan- 32 Sorry, even 5 weeks of practice in England would not have made much of a difference. However, I do expect at 2 out of the 4 to do better in the remaining test matches. And by the time ODIs are played, these guys will hit top form.
vvvslaxman Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 They used to have Jayasuriya who would give them a flying start and Murali to bowl them out. Now No vaas, murali, malinga, jayasuriya.
Alchemist Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 sanga and mahela is the core of SL batting ' date=' these two didn't had the much time to prepare because of ipl[/quote'] What about England bowlers ? They had far more less time to bowl you guys out !!! And they still did.
Ram Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 My car heater isn’t working properly. Must be coz of the damn IPL!
Ultimate_Game Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 The real reason for Lanka's collapse is that they still haven't mentally recovered from losing to India in the WC final after putting up a decent total
Cricket Tragic Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 The IPL is a bunch of exhibition matches that are a total joke. However, to blame the circus for SL's performance is stupid. Lady, Samaraweera and Sanga have flopped on previous tours of England as well.
Ultimate_Game Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 This article is actually much closer to the truth and is one of the main reasons why SL will struggle.... http://www.espncricinfo.com/page2/content/story/516752.html The article should be moved from Page 2 to the main cricinfo site.
