Zap_Brannigan Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Unbelievable! That is humiliating. We would have bent backwards to accommodate them. That is true and when we don't they raise a stink about it. From what i could infer about the above scenario is that BCCI just wanted a few more since we were in the finals and noone expected us to be and were probably given less than nominal passes. Compare that with what happened in this WC, when every srilankan tom, dick and harry and their family couldnt be accommodated. Ranatunga, like many others, seem to conveniently forget the time when ECB and CA has extra votes. They seem to forget when ECB and CA formed an alliance and ganged up on others. Do Sri lankans want another WC boycott? or another Murali gate? Do we want to see 7 players getting suspended in a single match again? Do pak want to go back to the era when hair said that they were tampering, it meant they were tampering and there was no recourse for a reversal?
Vijay.Sharma Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 google gave me this, "Humiliated by officials of Lord's who denied them extra pavilion passes, board officials led by Salve vowed to snatch the World Cup from England and bring it to the sub-continent."Legend has it, that NKP Salve (no wonder the challenger series is named after this bugger...he no kirketer but he done it!), Raj Singh Dungarpur, etc got together into a strategy meeting which was in earshot of Dhirubhai Ambani. Thence came to mankind, for the first time in the world of sport, a diamond sparkling on the summit of a trophy. Spectacular were the battles that raged across the ancient land during 'the month of courage and valor'. It seemed destiny had chosen the very month that held in it's time the great war of Bharata, as the month for the battles of a different kind. Oh yes, there were battles fought on the fields and battles fought in the minds. The wind spoke, giving birth to a tornado that swept through the ancient land. The silence after the storm concealed in it the seed of mankind's willow-leather civilization. Lay it dormant, the seed, for a near decade whence the stars aligned signalling the birth of the new king. The King bellowed his arrival amidst thunderous applause in the city of gardens only to be shown the darker side of his subjects at the Eden. The reign that began so tumultuously found it's assertion five revolutions around the sun later in another tumultuous event. The warriors of Bharata were wickedly and unjustly targeted by an agent of the previous dynasty while on a hunting jaunt through the ancient motherland of all mankind. The time had come, as if predestined, for the King to make whole the new dawn. Assert he did and how! Shook the willow-leather civilization with tremors that threatened to rupture whole worlds apart. Calmed the wrath of the King only when all of mankind bowed to his might. Thus started the new era, two years into the new millenium with the wheel of time reset. The ancient prophecy has come to pass and we shall witness the Bharata King rule for many an aeon...
Zero_Unit Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Regardless of what he says, Cricket Srilanka is also trying to make an IPL type of tournament. Now where is the justice? Should a foot be put up his mouth now?

Do pak want to go back to the era when hair said that they were tampering, it meant they were tampering and there was no recourse for a reversal? Hypocrites. I think we had a role in getting him to "quit" from the SLC a few years back. He was a good competitor but he's picking on the wrong target, time and time again. He just refuses to back down with his tirade and jingoism. Someday, he's gonna land in big trouble. Legend has it, that NKP Salve (no wonder the challenger series is named after this bugger...he no kirketer but he done it!), Raj Singh Dungarpur, etc got together into a strategy meeting which was in earshot of Dhirubhai Ambani. vvvslaxman Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 wants some attention. He gets it. But only from us. Not from BCCI. They don't give a damn so far.
Pagalpanti Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Make him a commentator or show panelist he will be all for IPL and its 1001 benefits to cricket. :two_thumbs_up:
Vijay.Sharma Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 ^ In fact from next season IPL should include two more "leader" categories like the orange and purple caps/hats. a. Inspired by Tony Greig, a special Tony Greig rimmed hat with top torn off to reveal an artificial bald patch for the commentator with the highest decibels and worst annoyance b. Inspired by Ranatunga, a special Ranatunga Lungi* for the expert in the studio with the best whines. *Dunno what will happen if by chance Anjum Chopra happens to be the leader in the studio...will she wear the lungi?
