He averages 35 in Bangladesh. So Bangladesh pitches are great pitches? What a stupid logic. He has thrashed every bowler on every pitch. He just played rash shots in some of the innings and got out. But that is how Viru plays. He has got a 100 in every single country except Bangladesh and NZ. Even in NZ in one dayers he got 2 centuries where batsmen hardly could score a 50.

There is no need to bring in statistics against weak countries like Zimbabwe and Bangladesh , Tendulkar too averages around 35 in Zimbabwe . The point here is Sehwag by no means is a complete batsman with whopping averages of 20 and 25 in NZ and SA . He was scoring tons of runs against saffie bowlers in India but couldnt even manage to score with same pace against there attack in away conditions. Why is it that he manages to score heavily against SA in home conditions with averages per series as 87 , 74 and 95 respectively while in SA he averages just 14 and 24 in last two series ?

Sehwag toh is a world class batsman in Odis as well who contributed with a huge 175 against Mighty Bangaldesh in opening Match of the world cup but a failure in every single match after that .

Yes but that was mainly on the back of his mammoth 175 against Bangladesh otherwise he had a very ordinary tournament . He showed zero responsibility in the three knock out matches ( Quarter/Semis/Finals) and went on to play his natural game which fortunately didnt cost the team . Too much fuss has been made about his 38 runs against Pakistan where he was only slogging "Afridi type" untill his luck ran out , it wasnt that Pakistan were on the back foot after his innings since Wahab Riaz did bring back Pakistan into the match which means it wasnt cakewalk for us after Sehwag left . Bowlers won the match for us on that day , take away the contribution of likes of Munaf , Bhajji , Zaheer and Yuvi that day and you will realize that fluke scores of 30, 40 dont really help .

He doesn't have technical perfection - agreed, or solid footwork. But nothing can be further from the truth than calling Sehwag a slogger. He plays proper cricketing shots even if he doesnt always get in the perfect position to play them. Sloggers dont have the kind of test record that Sehwag does, He is a naturally aggressive player.

Sehwag's true value is on the flatter decks or on slow sluggish tracks where through his aggressive innings he helps us score at a much faster rate giving our bowlers the much needed additional time to bowl the opposition out twice. Outside the subcontinent, where he helps the team is by scoring those quick 30s and 40s which gives us a great start and blunts the new ball threat. Go back to the 2008 Aus tour, he didn't play the first two tests, we hardly scored runs in the first 15-20 overs. Once he came back from the 3rd test onwards, we always had the upper hand as Lee's prowess with the new ball was nearly blunted.

No disagreement there! But, SA has still been a blot in his career...except for his debut cent SA has been unkind to him. I hope he gets another chance to make a cent and a couple of 50s there soon enough

The chase in Chennal against Eng comes to my mind. Without Sehwag, I can't imaginge India winning. Ofcourse Tendulkar/Yuvraj were vital, but in a team game without a start like that, it is tough to finish a chase.
