sudheer.b Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Raina..........as a captain now Raina...........asa player in squad Any change in these two conditions? Can we expect RAINA like DHONI? Can Raina has ability to face competition from KOHLI as captain? Can Raina will handle pressure in upcoming three ODIs? Whether Raina's captaincy is AGGRESSIVE or DEFENSIVE?
Misu243 Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Well he might've picked up a thing or two about leading from Dhoni from the IPL but he has ways to go if he wants to be like MSD. In the long run, I get the feeling that Kohli will be our captain after MSD...
achilles Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 As captain, Kohli has won us a World Cup. As a player, he is in the Top 10 in the world. Raina will not be much in the captaincy role post the current selection committee's tenure. He couldn't win us a series in Zimbabwe.

In the long run' date=' I get the feeling that Kohli will be our captain after MSD...[/quote'] He should be but Gambo will be the captain after MSD and then Raina IMO because of BCCI's mindset.

Sachinism Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Are you confusing Kohli with MSD :--D Kohli has won the U-19 WC, He might be in the top 10 as well Kohli should've been the one being groomed for captaincy. Anyways no beef with Raina for now, been one of the leading LOI players for us for a while now

Anyways no beef with Raina for now, been one of the leading LOI players for us for a while now U-19 captaincy and captaining senior team is slightly different. I dont know but somehow each time i see him he reminds me of Dravid. (fielding, batting, temperament, way he holds himself during interviews, even body builtup). What I will prefer is another Dada or MSD or somewhat in between. Raina to me seems someone in between the the two
Sachin=GOD Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 I think Raina has as much chance of being the future ODI Captain as Kohli at the moment.
phaedrus Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 its too early to think of Kohli as captain. Granted he has done outstandingly well, but itll be putting way too much pressure on the guy who still has a lot to learn about the game. I do believe, in a few years time, Kohli has a much better chance to take over from Dhoni/Gambhir but as of now he should be left to his own devices to become a better player.
Temujin Khaghan Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 ultimately the future captain should be able to cement his spot in all three forms of the game kohli.
sudheer.b Posted June 12, 2011 Author Posted June 12, 2011 Gambhir is also in future captaincy race at least for 1-2years after Dhoni's retirement. Yuvi lost his captaincy chances. Can we expect captain from Bowling department?
