I also hope Manoj Tiwari is given a chance and Virat is made to open and I have a feeling its going to happen.Raina said in the presentation ceremony that every player will be given a chance.
Let's hope he plays. Dhawan's had his go and he's clearly not very good, so would be good to see Tiwary play.

In terms of Parthiv vs Dinesh Karthik, it seems neck and neck in the ODI arena. Karthik has problem lost his "utility" tag, as their are enough options if one of the First team batsman gets injured. Hence, the only way Kathik would play is if Dhoni is injured. Parthiv seems better suited as an opener in ODIs, whilst Karthik seems ideal to come in latter in the innings. Hence, the decision for who to play would depend on Dhoni getting injured and if regular openers are playing. If only one off Tendulkar, Sehwag, and Gambhir is injured, I don't think Parthiv will play, then Karthik would get the nod. As for where Saha stands, who the f knows :dontknow: Only other way to settle is...one off Saha, Karthik or Parthiv can notch up an average of 30+, then

One big score from the starts he is getting will seal PaPa's spot in the team for a few more series. 2 more ODIs to go and if he continues the good form, may well bat ahead of Mukund in the tests too.

Mukund has done well too in domestic play so I would not write him off.
Problem is, the batting line-up already has a lot of inexperienced players. Vijay, who will definitely play, only has 9 Tests; Kohli has yet to play a single Test and the last spot will go to either Raina (eight Tests) or Badri (two Tests). Given that, I think they will opt for Parthiv rather than bringing in another debutant in the form of Mukund. But Mukund is in the frame and will get his chance sooner than later.

Makes sense.

No. Watching him play, i remembered the Pre-Dhoni days where this is the best we had and had to be satisfied with it. the era of the Dighes and Dahiyas. Made me appreciate Dhoni even more

But he cannot replace Dhoni in keeping' date=' so is his batting enough to warrant a place in the first choice 11?[/quote'] True but if Dhoni does not play he should be go to guy.
