I am so happy he is doing well. I always thought he would do good but unfortunately he came in too young. With time he has started doing better. I hope he along with Badri, Abhimanyu and Mukund and all other youngsters do well. These guys deserve it.

There still are flaws in his keeping but as a keeper batsman,he is doing a very good job. Since his ODI comeback, his scores read 53, 56*, 11, 38, 13, 56. Very consistent. He would have loved to convert one of those knocks o a three figure score, but I am sure the 10o will come in its due course.

He didnt do a good job behind the stumps the other day but to be fair, the ball was turning square. I remember him getting dropped in the past after he missed a lot of catches during a series. It was in Australia if I remember correctly. His batting has been pretty good so far and far improved.

Agreed he needs to improve his glovework but he has shown a desire to be there.
He can't . He is just not natural as a fielder or keeper. But he can become a full time batsman if he continues piling up big runs. His conversion rate is poor. He gets out in the 50s instead of going on to make big score. A striking similar problem to that of Dinesh karthik albeit he is a better keeper. He is also not an explosive player. So he is not exactly a match winner in any sense with bat. When you want to play as a batsman for India you gotta be a match winner. So he has a long way to go. He has the potential with bat. But with glove it is unrealistic to expect him to improve.

I am sure with right training he can improve . What do you think of Saha?

He's a fine player, EXTREMELY under-rated batsmen, both in tests and ODIs. People forget that (mostly due to his baby-ish looks) Parthiv a near 10 year old international veteran! He made his test debut as far back as 2002, in England. One of the lasting impressions of that series among many Indian fans may have been the stunning victory lead (orchestrated by what is now one of the all-time great innings by Dravid), but most people have probably forgotten the fact that we were actually very close to losing the first test at Nottingham. And it was Parthiv's dogged innings, in the 2nd innings DEBUT test match, that played a minor, albeit significant role in helping save that test. The guy has an extremely unique technique that allows him prosper (without too much risk) in the most productive area for batsmen in test cricket - The arc between fine third-man and deep point, on the offside. His compact technique allows him to attack balls only marginally outside off-stump, without looking reckless. Indian cricket has not adequately tapped the talents of this extremely capable player. The problem is, because he is a wicket-keeper, his batting abilities always get bundled with his keeping capabilities which are still suspect, tarnishing the former. I'd even go to the extent of saying that, if given a decent run, Parthiv is easily capable of averaging 45 in test cricket, as an opener. It is such a pity that trying to find a slot in the Indian batting line-up is like trying to find a seat to sit in a suburban commuter train in Mumbai, in peak rush hour.

Who does PaPa play for? Gujarat? They need to get in a new keeper and play him as a batsman, see if he's able to improve his batting when that is the only thing he has to concentrate on

He has indeed taken his opportunities with the bat very well as ODI opener in the past few months. I agree it would be interesting to see how he would get on as batsman only at FC level, but not sure how feasible that will be.

Needs to convert the starts.
True, but as a stop gap opener he's doing a decent enough job. Looks far more comfortable against international bowling than the specialist opener Dhawan.

Wat a useless player, probably and hopefully this was his last match

Indian first class cricket and playing against crap like the Windies is his level. The top international teams will eat him alive. Give me KKD over PP anyday.
