Rest Raina and get Bhajji to skipper next ODI and Raina for the last one with Bhajji rested...would be good for Ishant to get a few overs under his belt Patel Dhawan Rohit Badrinath Tiwary Pathan Saha Harbhajan Ashwin Ishant Vinay Kumar And for the last one get Raina in for maybe Rohit and Mishra for Bhajj...

Both could do with some time off. May as well play Dhawan in all matches let management take a good look at him seeing that the series is sealed. 5-0 will be nice, but a bit of rest to Raina especially who plays so much cricket is a better idea

Anything less, and India loss ODI ranking points. I would go in with: Parthiv Rohit Kohli Badri Tiwary Raina Yusuf Ashwin Mishra Ishant Vinay Kumar Still believe Rohit's future is in the opening slot. He has got the stroke play, aggression and very comfortable at pulling and hooking short pitched deliveries.

I think Dhawan's had his shot, hasn't been great so give Tiwary a go now. Very important that Ishant gets a solid workout before the Test series as well. Badri also needs a couple more opportunities to press his case.

I don't see the purpose of giving him another 2 games. It's not about the runs but the way a guy bats. Rohit Sharma made only 29 in Australia but everyone knew that he had the ability after that.

I kind of see your point in Raina's case (though he was given a break during the NZ ODIs iirc, and was then dropped during the SA Tests), but not at all for Kohli. He's only been an ODI regular for the past 18 months (plus, of course, the IPL), it shouldn't be that taxing, especially for a 22-year old batsman (occasional bowler at best). In any case, one of the two is going to miss out during the England Test series (bar injuries) so will be a forced break of over a month, anyway.

He's now established himself at number 3 and should be left there. My logic is simple, when an opener is going out (Dhawan), the guy replacing him should open in his place. No point tinkering around everyone else's batting position. On your point regarding Raina and Kohli playing non step, well Raina did not play during the NZ ODIs, rested during SA tests, did not play in the early part of the WC. Since the SA series, has played 2 tests , 12 ODIs, 14 IPL games and a t20 match. 37 match days in a 6 month period. I can't really understand how that is running him into ground. As for Kohli, in the last 6 months he has played 5 ODIs in SA, 9 in the WC, 3 in this series, 14 IPL matches and one t20 against WI. That's 32 match days in a span of 6 months, half of which were t20s. Why would he want to rest, especially given the fact that he has had a patchy series so far. He should much rather play the next 2 ODIs, get good scores and be in a better frame of mind for his test debut later in the series.

The difference between Kohli and Tiwary is Kohli Got the number of chances he deserved before establishing himself. But Tiwary would be dropped after 1-2 failures. So let the lad play in his Position and Fail.
