wobblydoggy Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Graham Swan is making much of India's refusal to embrace technology to assist umpiring in the forthcoming test series. Personally I think that umpires are more likely to give out batsmen on the front foot now. However, does not India refusing, unlike most of the rest of the world, to use the technology smack of fear that it might cause their unseating as No 1 in the world? Discuss
wobblydoggy Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 Why is it a fail? Why are India so afraid of technology? You seem to becoming a world superpower by using it, so why not on the pitch?
urbestfriend Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Its a real shame that BCCI is not accepting the usage of technology though majority of fans want to embrace the technology.
wobblydoggy Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 Its a real shame that BCCI is not accepting the usage of technology though majority of fans want to embrace the technology. Personally I think it is ridiculous, because all through the series they are going to dispute the umpires decisions in a court of the TV replays. Balls that are given out but would have missed are going to be criticised just the same as ones that would of hit will be. Personally I think your batsmen will score with or without the technology, for the simple reason that they are great batsmen.
1983-2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 we won the world cup when UDRS was used so why would we be afraid of technology
wobblydoggy Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 we won the world cup when UDRS was used so why would we be afraid of technology Because India refuses to use it in Test series? Why I dont know? You have great batsmen, so I dont understand why
ganeshran Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Lankans screwed us with wrong decisions even with UDRS present. That contributed a lot to the mistrust of Indian players which lingers on till date.
Sachinism Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Because India refuses to use it in Test series? Why I dont know? You have great batsmen, so I dont understand why BCCI and Dhoni have both provided reasons if you care to look it up They may not be the best reasons but those are their reasons
wobblydoggy Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 BCCI and Dhoni have both provided reasons if you care to look it up They may not be the best reasons but those are their reasons But are they reasonable reasons, given that every other country is willing to play under these new circumstances. One wonders if Indian cricket is being a little disingenuous
wobblydoggy Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 No they are not ready to pay for it. Thats all You must be joking. The best supported and funded of all the sides in the world expects everyone else to accept that they cannot afford it. Thats just bull****
mishra Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 You must be joking. The best supported and funded of all the sides in the world expects everyone else to accept that they cannot afford it. Thats just bull**** On another thread you said we live on British Aid. Arent you contradicting yourself
wobblydoggy Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 On another thread you said we live on British Aid. Arent you contradicting yourself I did not say you live on British Aid. I said we give aid to India, what you do with it is up to you. Why we are giving you aid when you have a space program is beyond me, but then I am not a politician. You are however the best supported cricket side on earth and your cricket committee has more than any other. So saying you cannot afford the new technology is bull****
mishra Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 So saying you cannot afford the new technology is bull**** Come on man. I am saying I am hungry and you are not ready to believe me..... Believe me... We are poor ..... We cant buy those zazzy gadgets :((
wobblydoggy Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 Come on man. I am saying I am hungry and you are not ready to believe me..... Believe me... We are poor ..... We cant buy those zazzy gadgets :(( We are told that there are still lots of people living in poverty in India, but poverty does not normally mean with computors:hysterical: So I will take your post as a funny
mishra Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 We are told that there are still lots of people living in poverty in India, but poverty does not normally mean with computors:hysterical: So I will take your post as a funny So whether I am poor or not , or whether i can afford something or not, You will only come to know if you are told.... Who is that whom you listen ?
wobblydoggy Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 So whether I am poor or not ' date=' or whether i can afford something or not, You will only come to know if you are told.... Who is that whom you listen ?[/quote'] I did not say that. Our media and politicians justify the aid to India because of the poverty. I have never been to India, so I have to rely on others to inform me. I hope to come to India for the tests there, when we have beaten you in England first:winky:

I see because you politician and your media saying.... You will believe that we can afford that gadget..... I thought you had your "own opinion" :hatsoff: So To put very simply dont you think that millions or probably some day billions paid to DRS by BCCI can be actually used by India to develop professional cricket at grass root level and professional umpires.......?
