Maundy Gregory Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Unless England win in subcontinent - can never be No.1 Has India ever won in Australia or South Africa? :giggle:
Maundy Gregory Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 ^ WTF is so funny? You do have bragging rights, but the degree to which you're gloating prematurely only makes you look silly. You keep forgetting that there are still 2 matches to go, and this post of yours only sheds light on your knowledge (or lack of) of the game. We've been the best Test team for almost 2 years now, so what's with the 'inability to do so' bit? And 2007 was the example I cited here because that was the last time we played a Test series against England in England. You'd do well to at least look up your facts and comprehend before getting all keyboard happy. England is not the #1 in Tests yet. It has to go down 3-1 for that to happen, which is likely, but try sustaining that spot for 2 years. Also, India is not #1 in ODIs either, btw, even though we're World Champions. Which reminds me- when did England ever win the WC? So really, don't give me that codswallop about consistency. And yes, it's hogwash to talk about Tontee Tontee here if you think my bringing ODIs into the equation is irrelevant as well. Stop digging yourself further into the rabbit hole. Sometimes I wonder why I waste my time replying to such ignorant posts. Oh dear, it's difficult to debate rationally with someone who obviously has no knowledge of the game, but here goes: You spoke about winning abroad and being No.1, yet India has never won in Australia or SA. Likewise, India managed to be No.1 for 2 years. England has been No1. numerous times (and in the 50s for something like 9 years). How's that for consistency? As for the ODI and T20 stuff, that's irrelevent to Test cricket, but seeing as you brought up ODIs to show how India 'dominates' several forms of the game over a long time (what a crock, India has had 2 years and that is it), it's only fair to add T20 as yet another form of the game. You'd also do well to look up your records against SA & Aus. Get back to me when you've found how your lions have been going overseas (even when ranked #1) :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
Ponka Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 WTF is going on here! Ponka is not one bit pleased to see this thread getting hijacked. Please respect the sanctity of the thread and do not divert it from the main subject. Ponka!
Guest Gunner Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Pinkfreud, Maundy, Kindly take your ugly fight private. I don't see the purpose of your arguments here over the merits of who is a better team.

You beat a out of sorts team, missing all the greats and you suddenly think you're Billy Big Balls. Yeh all other formats of the game are irrelevant, but it doesn't stop you from creating them :haha: Its like a kid boasting he is the smartest in class because he topped his math class, while failing everywhere else. You'd do well to look up your record. You have been a joke of a team for many, many years.
pinkfreud Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 @ Gunner, I was toeing the 'thread line' in my response to HyroProto, when Maundy tried to veer me off course. Even then, I still think the discussion was in some way related to the debate about who is a better team. Anyway, sorry if anyone thought I was hijacking this topic; wasn't my intention.

The shining whiteness of Ponka's holy prediction thread, symbolizing purity and the power that purity conveys, has been stained... :sniffle: The wrath of the devil will befall the unholy beings who dare soil the sanctity of this holy thread....

Ponka Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 Ponka tell us about ODI prediction ? Wait for a separate thread on that. Ponka has to work out the maths for that and will let you all know about it. Problem is that Ponka is in US on the go (away from home) and doesn't have his tools to find out whats gonna happen. Ponka will remain on the go until friday next week.
