We will be in Australia having played 4 tests and tri series before WC 2015. Thats good for acclimatisation, but players can be very tired also after a long series. These days, we don't have many ODI specialists as well. So is it good or bad? How should selectors approach this situation and what can be done to keep the players fresh?
Not just Australia. The entire year is filled with cricket. It's going to be a LONG year. Big pool of players (25-30). Rotation. Rest players during ODIs.

Its good India will be in Australia 2-3 months before the 2015 World Cup and have an ODI series against them.
Same thing happened in 1992 too...peaked too early and then had fatigue, same thing for Windies . Pak played the right amount and it did wonders for them,Just saying.

Didn't peak at all. Lost heavily both ODIs/tests. The team just wasn't good enough.

Didn't lose heavily....We reached the finals of B and H series and were very competitive...WI was the third team and they were much better than what they have now.....Even in tests we werent completely outplayed.

^Infact we did run Aussies close in a lot of ODI games too....Cheeka was in good touch in the beginning,Kapil was in good bowling form,SRT made his name on that tour,Prabhakar was in good form as well.

Indian Cricket Team was totally fatigued by the time World Cup (1992) was played. From players mental state, it's never good to be away from home for such a long time before an important tournament. Playing in Australia tests players mentally and physically and disastrous results in the test series could torpedo the world cup campaign.

If I remember correctly, India played them 6 times, including 2 finals, and lost 5 out of 6. India was also beaten by them in the World Cup game. India was a total flop in World Cup. Only one noteworthy win.

Actually now we compare everything with what happened on last Aus/Eng tours. Otherwise losing 4-0 in 5 test matches is being completely outplayed though not as bad as losing those many in 4 test matches.
