Waqar Younis is recognized by most as a greatest phaassht bowlser in the modern era but his test average against India is his lowest against all nations. v Bangladesh 10.05 v New Zealand 19.60 v Zimbabwe 19.88 v Sri Lanka 22.73 v West Indies 23.32 v England 27.04 v South Africa 28.75 v Australia 33.80 v India 48.75 His average is more than double when playing against India. The question is why is Waqar's lowest average against India? Did Indian batsmen really scared him that he forgot to banana swing??:--D:--D:--D

Ok. I checked the avg from 1998 till 2003. His avg is 76.50 against us!! Against mighty Aussies he averages 33.62 during that period! If the next excuse is about flat Indian pitches where he played those two tests, here is a shocker. Venki Prasad took 6 wickets in an innings during that series

He only played 4 tests against India. 2 in his debut series in 1989. and then 2 tests 10 years later in 1999.
I already mentioned that he averages 33 against the best team during that time. It is clear that though he was not his best during that time, he was still a good bowler (He averages 23.56 from 1998-2003)

Meh, you have to look at when they played a certain team. If they played at the end of their career, when injured/out of form, peak or at the start. With most teams, Waqar would have had multiple opportunities to make up for a poor series or two but because series against India were played rarely, he didn't have the opportunity.
