EnterTheVoid Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 Sree' date=' I saw this Zimbabwe-Australia game in 2004 at MCG. It was rained out after Aus batted full 50 overs. The place where I was sitting, Ian Harvey's six came right there and I actually got the ball in my hand and threw it away to the fielder Sean Ervine.[/quote'] Where were you sitting Tics? I was sitting in the upper upper seats and I kid you not, that is one SPECTACULAR view. Btw, see if you can recognize this bloke. I met him at the MCG last year.
EnterTheVoid Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 ^^ He's the official Mascot of the 'Barmy Army', the mob that travels around the world supporting the Ingerlish Kirkut Team. Pakistan has got 'Chacha Cricket', India has that guy who has that Tendulkar paint all over his body. England has got him, goes by the name 'Vic Flowers'
EnterTheVoid Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 Took these myself, the first from a nearby 100 storey sky scraper. Love this stadium to bits, its smack back in the middle of the CBD.
Cricketics Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Ya.. There was this another ENglish dude who died like 3-4 years back I think, he was one of the founders of the barmy army. I was sitting in the Bay 13 stand.
Anonymous Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Anonymous and Tics, check this out. This is what the MCG looks like during a TEST if you haven't seen it before. Don't be fooled by the supposed lack of people, the number of people there would have filled 80% of cricket stadia worldwide to capacity point. http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=254669 That is one awesome ground. Shame our BCCI will never build one like that despite having all the money in the world.
EnterTheVoid Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 That is one awesome ground. Shame our BCCI will never build one like that despite having all the money in the world. The MCG is a multi purpose sporting stadium. If Cricket Australia don't get off their ars3 and properly maintain the ground, one of the other sporting codes will.
EnterTheVoid Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 Took these myself, the first from a nearby 100 storey sky scraper. Love this stadium to bits, its smack back in the middle of the CBD. BTW, if you are wondering how I took the above picture, I took it from this sky scraper shown in the black rectangle.
