Cricketics Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Great Person. I was there today at his Washington Kastles game. Kastles won and went 14-0 up and finished on top of the table. They took a victory lap in the end in which there were Rennae Stubbs, Coach Murphy, Bobby Reynolds, Rodionova and offcourse our champion Leander Paes. Leander paes gave a high five to everyone who were there in box seat while taking victory lap and when I asked for a picture, he told "I will come back" I thought he won't come back since he got busy with interviews from various different people and also a huge kids line was waiting. Kids under 16 are allowed to enter court after the match to get autographs. But Leander Surprised me. As soon as he was done with his 15 mins of interview with numerous reporters, he was heading towards one of those places where all other kastles were standing, but he remember that I was wearing "Indian" JERSEY so he started looking for me and came down running. Lady next to me took my phone and recorded a video too. I told him "All the best for the us open doubles. You will win for sure. He said "Thanks. I like your jersey" Now as he is about to leave, he returns the pen which he took for me to sign on the ball and I was about to say "Jai Hind" to him lol and he heard just "Jai" of it and said "JAI HO" Also I noticed, whenever Leander used to win some point, those dj waalas used to start playign Jai ho, the american version of it. and crowd were also chanting "Leander J HOW" Great experience. Just felt like sharing. Leander Paes is a real champ and a real down to earth person.. It was great to see the whole crowd chanting Leander - Leander along with me.
