Fat boy bowled well when he came in for Finn in the Ashes.
:haha: I would like to see you stand in front of him and call him fat. He is all muscle and would knock your block off:hysterical:

He bowled well at Lords and I think he was largely responsible for the loose wickets that fell to Anderson.
True, but the impact of losing him wouldn't be as pronounced as losing someone like Anderson (particularly in TB) to the English team, I'm guessing.

Bresnan is a good replacement bowler. He can swing it at decent pace so can be handful in these conditions. And is certainly not a mug with bat. Can bat lower down the order.

Gambhir ruled out of second Test against England

The Indian team received a major setback on Friday when opener Gautam Gambhir was ruled of out of the second Test against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. In Gambhir's absence, Rahul Dravid may again be forced to step up to open the innings and Yuvraj Singh will get another chance to resurrect his Test career. Gambhir had taken a nasty blow on his elbow in the first Test, fielding at forward short-leg. He went out of the field immediately and didn't even open the second innings. Dravid did the honours along with Abhinav Mukund. Gambhir did come back on the final day and batted quite comfortably too; the swelling had, however, not subsided. Gambhir took rest on Wednesday even though he did participate in the football game; he also hit a few balls without actually taking any strain on his arms. On Thursday, though, he came all padded up and had a go at the nets. India are already without the swashbuckling opener Virender Sehwag and pace spearhead Zaheer Khan, as both are nursing injuries.

Pathetic. It was not broken and his country really need him without Shewag in the team. He should have played with pain killers if necessary
Hmm...! He is the best judge to play or not as he is the one who is feeling pain. It is better to sit out than retire hurt in the middle of the game.

I think if still injured better not to play. Indian players playing with illlness/injuries don't normally do that well. (Kumble was an exception i think). Sehwag, Gambhir have played with injuries before and never seem to bat that well when they do. Time for Yuvi to fight it out. Also he ALWAYS does well against England :)
