IPL's impact on Indian cricket

There's no question that IPL negatively impacts Indian cricket (the test team). We have had too many threads to discuss that. We find few talents from IPL and the emerging players get to play with international stars. But the talents found in IPL are just not good enough for international Test cricket. More over, because of big money, there's more incentive for a player to fine tune their technique for IPL than for test cricket. This results in a lot of young Indian players with techniques not suited for test cricket. On the other hand, players with established technique also get affected by IPL. They still need to play non-stop cricket for 2 months and can't take rest or get injured during IPL. We have seen the worst case of this scenario this year with Sehwag, GG, Zak, etc. IPL is here to stay. It's good for a lot of fringe players who couldn't have gotten into the team, good for BCCI, good for TV companies, good for young Indian cricket fans who don't have the patience for test cricket. My question in this thread is, since IPL is not going anywhere and affects our test performance negatively, is there any way to limit the damage done by IPL? Would limiting the qualifying age for IPL help so that young players in their infancy are not lured by big money and spoil their technique? Would limiting the number of matches played by senior players/current Indian team players help? What are your thoughts on this subject?

IPL is all about t20, t20 without young players would be joke. lol imagine all 30+ players.. :haha: There is no way IPL is going to be scrapped. Also there is no way the no. of matches will be reduced, BCCI could not even cut-down on 10 matches this year as franchisee's threatened them to back out if it was done. So we have to live with it at the cost of our test ranking.

IPL came in 2008. I don't understand why IPL is blamed whenever we lose. Haven't we lost before IPL? Players were injured before too. They players were injured before too. They hide their injuries before too. WE forget these things very easily and blame irrelevant things. These things are not new happening in Indian cricket. In SA 2006 tour, Munaf Patel played last test even with injury and could not bowl and we lost test which we could have won with series. So blaming IPL for these things is rubbish.
