What is the problem with Bangladesh?

Bangladesh a cricket crazy nation with fairly stable economy and political situation that got its test status 10-12 years ago still is minnow in test cricket. They are even minnow in one day cricket which they are playing from over 20 years.On the other hand Zimbabwe ,a country that was/is in political turmoil ,economically ruined in last decade ,racially divided and cricket not so popular still is in the position that they are challenging Bangladesh . The 3 other South asian countries have their ups and down in cricket but with Bangladesh they have only down and down

India took 60-70 years to reach where they are. Bangladeshis will play like pakistanis because their cricketers look so impatient.

Here we go again....come on guys.....i joined this forum thinking this was really a cool cricket site, and i have respect for u guys.....its just one day's play man.....and it hurts so much....no one knows what we go thru.....we were denied in multan, we would have got that test victory....then fatullah...so close....then the test against england where we piled up 400+ in 1st innings...3 decisions went against us inspite of them being PLUMM in 2nd innings....trust me....being a weaker team no one will really realize how many decisons go against us.....we would have had 2-2 significant victories by now.....but yea...i am more hopeful than ever, change is aorund the corner...if u guys dont support us, then who will?....4-0 whitewash, beating england after being in the lowest of lows...these are all signs...and just the begining of beginning.....have waited for 10 excruciating yrs, will wait for another ten, but will never give up...peace from a Bangla bro

Facts are facts. 12 years of cricket and yet they're nothing. Teams like zimbabwe and ireland who hardly play cricket can still own them any other day and yet he's here expecting people to support their test status. They should better play some gully cricket. All teams in world cricket from England to Pakistan and WI and even the minnows like Ireland can own them any day. Better to stay silent then get owned every day. :finger:

As for the OP Confidence and Support Play ball - You would need to keep playing, unfortunately due to financial reasons - you guys don't get many games but a long test series and ODI's will help.

To produce a decent quality cricket team, you need a good domestic structure with proper coaching from sub junior level. Because the game is more expensive to play than Soccer and also tougher to learn the basics and details. That's why India, SL and Pak took a while to produce a quality team and its harder for new countries to produce a good team. Same with Bangladesh. The important thing is there is a lot of interest and passion for cricket in Bangladesh which will always produce talent. I think its just a matter of time before we see a decent quality Bangladesh test side provided they are groomed and managed well.

Thats it guys......thats it....i accept we've sucked.....but its really unfortunate that more than often, we dont get the credit we deserve.....just a single bad innings or bad day, and critics focus on our lowlights, and tend to forget the improvements we've made....just one single bad day....and all this!.....but yea, i am accepting overall, we've sucked....and its abt time, we defeat teams ranked above us.....no longer any stupid excuses even from us....this test, followed by home series against wi and pak.....we gotta win atleast a test against each...and am hopeful, coz everyone tends to neglect how we've pushed the teams in test matches for the past couple of yrs on a consistent basis...God willing, if what I told were to happen that we win a test against both pak and wi, and even then if people criticize abt our test status, then surely, we'll be able to figure out the black sheep, coz they exist in every community....peace

The problem is of the underlying infrastructure. There needs to be grassroots investment to make sure there are enough quality cricketers produced.
