Going by our teams performance in the first 2 tests there are several questions being raised about our next gen players so it brings us to the question are we building an indian team with the future in mind? Sachin Dravid and Laxman are nearing the end of their careers and we need quality replacements. So far most of the new generation dont seem to have the technique or rather havent had the right exposure to different Conditions .So what do you guys feel is the way forward? Here is my take. 1.Reducing the No of games in the ipl and other limited ovrs tournaments and giving more importance to the longer format. 2.More Youth team tours to other countries to get acustomed to different countries. 3.Encouraging more players play in the counties in england or australia . 4.Prioritising Important tours and playing sufficient No of practice matches. 5.Improving player fitness and monitering fitness of players even when they arent playing. So what do you guys think?

At the moment the IPL brings in too much revenue. 2.More Youth team tours to other countries to get acustomed to different countries. - Yeah there are definitely not enough youth and A ours. 3.Encouraging more players play in the counties in england or australia . - Yes, but the BCCI do not seem to let the decent players go and play abroad and it would be harder for the less known players to get an opportunity (which is why having more A tours is important) 4.Prioritising Important tours and playing sufficient No of practice matches. (definitely) 5.Improving player fitness and monitering fitness of players even when they arent playing. (P Probably the most important thing. Indian players need to take fitness seriously and try to get up towards the levels of the Australians, English and South Africans. The BCCI need to find a good fitness coach. So what do you guys think?
Agree with pretty much everything you say. The only thing i would add is we need to get rid of all this politics and favouritism in Indian cricket. A. Srikkanth's selection for this current emerging players tour is an absolute disgrace. The selector's also seem to hold a grudge against ex-ICL cricketer's too. Rayudu should have been taken to the Windies for the limited over squad as he has been superb in the last couple of years but for some reason he is still not getting selected.

Good suggestions. I would also like to see more pitches prepared in India having a lot of bounce and pace and help fast bowlers. Though I dont want Australia, England or SA to play on these pitches when they visit India. BCCI should prepare dust bowlers where ball turns square just like SA or England dish out bouncy type wickets. :icflove:

Nice to see you agree.Politics is really spoiling the chances for a lot of young cricketers and also agree with you on on Anirudha srikkanths selection as he isnt an emerging player.Agood emerging players team would be 3-4 fringe players some upcoming youngsters and performers at the domestic level.IPL performances musnt be valued.Rayudu was a good player and consistent performer .He left for icl because people didnt recognise his hard work.Hope that doesnt happen to future cricketers.

We do have some bouncy tracks i think Nagpur has some bounce in it.Dharamshala too but its too remote for intl cricket. But we Dont get fast bouncy green tops in india.Even in Nagpur though there is bounce it is flat so it actually assists the flat track bullies.
