Suggestions to improve Indian cricket and the need to plan for year 2015

Inculcate professionalism(behavioral) in future players:We will not have modest and humble players all the time.It is just a freak of nature that we have 3 superb players and all 3 of them are humble,modest and well-liked Inculcate Professionalism(Fitness wise):For all the Cool training techniques and highly-paid fitness experts our players need to realise that as long as they are professionaly active,they need to maintain a healthy regime.Injury Rehab does not mean vacationIt is sad to see some of our young players when we compare them with athletes of other competitive field-sports or even with young players from Aus or SA Plan for rotational policy:Develop a nice rotational system to improve the bench strength.This should cover opening,WK,Spin and Pace resources. Spend the money on various types of pitches:We have so many different grounds and varied climates within our country,why not make each pitch to cater to a certain category so that we are well equipped to play anywhere in the world Overseas players:Instead of shelling insane amounts of money for a 6 week tournament for overseas players why not have a few overseas players for our state sidesWe could have a talent exchange programme with other countries,this would develop the skills of players across the globe and would benefit all countries.

Good points. I like the point about exposure to conditions in England and Australia. Dravid, Kumble, Sachin, Srinath, Ganguly have all played county cricket. I think it should be a requirement that every prospective Indian player has a stint in county cricket. Or at least at league level cricket. This makes a huge difference to the player's experience and exposure. Every Indian cricketer who has played county cricket vouches for the experience it brought him. I remember when Zak made a successful comeback to the Indian side, he attributed a lot of it to his practice in English conditions.

Dont know exactly why there arent more indians in the county championship in england.IPL fatigue?Cramped sheduling?Any other reasons maybe?also dont forget ganguly he had a stint with Northhants in 2006.Hope players like raina and kohli who want to make it to test cricket play for such teams to get more experience.

I cannot help feeling it is a scheduling issue. The current lot seem to always be busy. If they're not playing international cricket, they probably want a break. If at all they do play, it will probably be just a handful of games. That too, probably of the limited-overs kind. Dravid, Kumble etc played full seasons for their counties. Dravid even played a season for Scotland.

Maybe its the IPL.That period used to be the time National players took a break.Now they take breaks by resting in an ongoing series.Also i think thats when the english county season opens so the fringe players and players out of form play for the counties.Can someone clarify when the ENGLISH COUNTY SEASON begins?

Finally thought someone(ojha) would get exposure but now he will most likely sit out the last two tests while he could have played for surrey .Also is ojha the intl player for surrey or the intl. reserve?

My suggestions: Increase the games in Duleep trophy and use that as a criteria for selection, not Ranji. Everyone plays domestic. Pace bowlers should be rotated liberally to avoid a Nehra, Balaji and now Zak type injury. Players selected from Duleep should go for India A or whatever and then the best players should be selected. Need to figure out a way to get more players involved so that a player like Dahiya or Badani should get their chances.
