saneindian Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Well played Mukund. Got an opportunity, came good and its his knock which has given our score some respectability.
ganeshran Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 First of all Mukund knew he was going to lose his spot anyway to Viru and Gauti. Second of all amidst all the gloom we have a 21 year old making a century and you have to be cribbing about it? /thread
akshayxyz Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Raina and Dhoni could not score against club level attack too.. that too after good start up the order.
jhakati Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 He's gonna be selected for next test' date=' he's gonna block, block, block, then full ball swinging away edges it to slips, or length ball swinging back in, bowled![/quote'] i agree he probably will fail in the REAL match
CrazyCric Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 BTW is Mukund injured ? because the score card says 'Retired hurt ' not 'Retired out' . If he voluntarily left the field to give others a go then it should come up as 'Retired out' IIRC.
Utalk Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Bloke scored a hundred and fans are unhappy. Has India found their Imran farhat?
Trichromatic Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Bloke scored a hundred and fans are unhappy. Has India found their Imran farhat? :haha: It seems so. Anyways, we didn't even see how he played. I'm sure that we can trust team management to make a right decision about the final XI.
Sachinism Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I like Mukund, good on him getting some runs. He's not playing regardless of what happens, this was Northants 2nd XI A 2nd XI of a team in the 2nd division

Cric_is_Life Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Well played Mukund  Viru should should play next test regardless of his performance today.
daryl1985 Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Ridiculous thread. I think Mukund looks good. He has had a baptism of fire in his test career.
Pagalpanti Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 The pitch looked really green, so Mukund must have played really well to get so many runs. I mean you can't expect all other batsmen to fail if the pitch was so easy to bat on. Raina is a walking wicket and Kohli cant be brought in just yet. So I guess Mukund should play at no.3 and Dravid, Sachin, Laxman move a place down.
anotherhawkeye Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Ridiculous thread. I think Mukund looks good. He has had a baptism of fire in his test career. I know..what a bunch of challenging pitches to start a career, first in WI and now.
Pagalpanti Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Mukund needs to cut down on his shots though, expansive drives and he plays the ball to hard which lead to his down-fall. If he manages to negotiate the new ball defensively. He can score some big runs.

But that tendency to go for flashy drives is not good in these conditions. He looks more comfortable than Raina.
