Pagalpanti Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I doubt though, Sehwag is just back and wouldn't wana pressure the shoulder more by bowling. Probably Raina, Rohit have to fill in for Yuvraj's quota of overs. last thing we would want is losing a series to England in ODI.
rahulrulezz Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Dravid in ODIs?? seriously WTF?? Dravid as a test batsman is good but Dravid as ODI players..really??Seriously before this, I always thought these selectors were the best selectors we ever had... They always went for an agressive team and tbh other than their disaster with Jadeja, they have been fair to everyone and believed in match winning players.. but I have been utterly disappointed with them regarding Dravid.. Dravid doesnt deserve to play LOI.. He is not made for them.. He will always remind me off our WC2007 disaster..tbh the best thing about our W2011 winning team wtas our team was full of matchwinners..every player was freaking agressive and can win u the .match out of nowhere (example Raina, Kohli, Y.Pathan, Yuvi).I loved our WC2011 team.. but its back to square one where we gonna have this guy who cudnt even score enuff even in IPL at good strike rate.. before England tour, Dravid was the worst player in our team..suddenly everyone is going gaga over him... again, I m not complaining about Dravid as a test player but as an ODI player
Andy Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Bring Back Dada and Kumble for 3rd and 4th test :protest:
ali0786 Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I think it's more because they want to give him a good farewell from the ODI's. Regardless, you guys have so many injured players and Dravid is in form.
CSK Fan Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Seems like this will also serve as a kind of farewell series for the wall as he is retiring after the series from the limited format. So India gets his abtting and he gets his farewell series
Blue Panther Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Then they deserve to lose but bringing back a player who played his last ODI good two years ago only shows panicking' date=' nothing else. I'm afraid these are the kind of bizarre 'incidents' that makes the tour more disastrous![/quote'] He will be the top scorer for the indian team in this series. Wait and watch.:two_thumbs_up:. His retirement from odi's after this series is a good news too.
Deleted_User_1 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 World cup is gone. We are world champs. Only one yound dude, Kohli deserved the chance. and he got it. So much for young line up. I think in long long time it's a fantastic decision made by selectors to build the team. It's important tour for INdia. We play big odi series. You never know, when the guys like Rohit Sharma or any other youngsters start having brain farts and throw their wicket on crucial stage. With No Yuvraj(the mvp from the wc) we needed someone as good as Dravid who can stay there. Brilliant move. HATS OF TOO DRAVID. HE IS ALREADY AMONG SOME RUNS. AND SHOULD CONTINUE TO JUST PLAY ODI CRICKET FOR A WHILE. He is pretty good we all know. I can bet already, this dude will score atleast with over 40 run average. May be 60 also. He's that bloody good. We all know that. Come on don't just ignore that this guy scores whenever he turns up. RAHUL DRAVID FOR INDIAN TEAM.. YES BLOODY YES. just copy-pasting what I wrote somewhere on first thought when I saw R.D was picked for ODI'S. WELCOME BACK TRUE CHAMPION - :cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer: Oh my goodness, even Dravid did not want this. Are you taking your meds because you seem to be disconnected from reality. You live in a LA-LA land!
gaurav92 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Legend is back, now he will show the young guns, how to handle the conditions in England. I will play him at No.4 Sehwag Sachin Gambhir Dravid Rohit Raina Dhoni Mishra Praveen Zaheer Munaf

Send that fat phaacker back to India.
gaurav92 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 If the Zak ass is struggling to stay fit' date=' I would not keep him near the team. Send that fat phaacker back to India.[/quote'] Yes, if he is unfit, we will have to play with Ishant. But I am worried about a different thing. Look at the bowlers, I mean we just have 4 bowlers and no part timers. Yuvi is out, Sachin and Veeru will not bowl. That leaves us with Kohli, Rohit, Raina whichever of the two plays. This leaves our 5th bowling option in turmoil. If we play with 4 bowlers and the 5th bowling option as part timers, we will end up giving 300. If we play with 5 bowlers (the fifth one being Vinay Kumar), we will still end up giving 300 runs, so which is a better option ? I guess 7+4 at least it gives us a better batting line up to chase, set up a huge total.
deepak_sach Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 This does not show anything.. Infact our top seven is already there. Sehwag,Sachin,Gambhir,Kohli,Rohit,Raina,Dhoni
talksport Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Rahul Dravid announces retirement from One Days after England "I am announcing my retirement from ODIs and T20s following the series against England. Thereafter, I will focus only on Test cricket, said Dravid, following the end of the two-day tour game against Northamptomshire that he didn't play. "In the short term it (his selection) is excitement for sure... (but) I was honestly surprised," Dravid added.
