jonas10 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I bet that more people back home know who Paul Valthaty is than say someone like Alistair Cook +1
panesarv Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 yep either shorten the tournament or keep it once in 2 years.. one year force all your youngsters to play county and one year for IPL. +1
pinkfreud Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Playing for IPL when you are unfit is what worries me. Exactly. If that isn't greed then I don't know what is- jeopardizing your health to breaking point and not giving a damn about being 100% fit for extremely important upcoming tours just because you 'have to play' in the IPL.
rkt.india Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Viru should have had his surgery right after world cup. He could have been part of the squad from the get go. Zak should have never played IPL as he should devote his time to Test cricket since age is not on his side. I dont think Viru would have been completely fit bowling and throwing by July even if he had surgery after WC in April. He is still cannot throw or bowl. It means he is not yet fit and is still having pain. If he had surgery in April, he had April, May, June to be fit by July which were still not enough for these kind of injuries. Shoulder or back surgeries at least take 4-6 months to heal fully and enable the player to be fully fit especially for an athlete. He would be fit by September-October.
IKnowU Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 This aint planet of the apes :headshake: I say 'YES'
