I personally don't like the way Bresnan is acting, and wouldn't wish my team/players ever to do so, but it's our own fault for givin people like him and English media ammunition to fire at us. It's up to our players to show pride in their performance and shut them up. Hope BCCI takes note of this debacle and ensure this never happens and I sure hope the Indian fans provide such a strong backlash that BCCI sees clearly that without performing well at intl level IPL will be meaningless and Indian fans wouldn't care about it. The reason most of fans back home flock to see IPL is coz we have done quite well at intl level in all formats but let's say if we are ranked at the bottom nobody would want to see/follow them in IPL. The only way for Team India and BCCI to respond is to make sure they manage to win the Aus series later this year coz if we lose to Aus in Aus we wouldn't have shown any improvement at all.

What Bresnan is saying isn't wrong and sadly I can't disagree, but it is poor form to be attacking the opposition like that. All teams have their horror tours (England have had enough of them to know, and Bresnan himself made his international debut in a 5-0 whitewash by Lanka in an ODI series), it doesn't mean the victorious team tells the losers to "go back home". Anyway, what goes around, comes around.

I wish we just play to our potential in the next test and win or lose show em what we are made of. The humiliation is just unbearable.

I know what you mean, Anonymous, but problem is we are constantly left hoping for a fight back that our team just doesn't seem to have in them on this tour (mentally)... after our disastrous first innings at Lord's, I hoped our batting would respond by drawing the game...couldn't bat out the final day, margin 200 runs :(( after the Lord's defeat, I hoped we would bounce back at Trent Bridge as we usually do after a defeat...for a while it seemed to be happening, then came a Broad hat trick and lost in 4 days, margin 300 runs :((:(( after Trent Bridge, I knew it was going to be 4-0 in my head, but deep inside I was still hoping for a stirring fightback...instead we were 100 for 7 on day one, they made 700 and now are going to lose by an innings and 200-300 runs :((:((:(( I just fear how bad the mauling at the Oval will be now...its like a nightmare which just keeps getting worse

Hope is the only thing that we can do as fans and thats true for every aspect of life thats beyond our control. Dont lose it, I know how it feels like. I've been getting the stick from my colleagues who are all English, even though its friendly banter, it still hurts. The only good thing has been that I didnt buy any tickets for the Test series :--D

It doesn't matter how much you guys try to defend Indians, matter of the fact is they are not coping. He has a point the pitch hasn't been that bad like the Indians are making out to be. England are pounding runs at the moment while the experienced Indians aren't. That said you need to be a bit graceful in handling success but England have never really been at the top so one or two individuals are not able to handle it which is quite ok. The Indians aren't any better, our younger brigade are brash as well.

This is why I want to see someone like Varun Aaron in the Indian squad. Bresnan bowls it short, but only at what, 83mph max? England's tail is very proud of being able to put up a battle, and claims to be better than ours, which it probably is. Would love to see Bresnan's head knocked off by a 150kph bouncer. Come on Aaron, let's serve the revenge next year, on our "roads". Revenge is a dish best served cold. Would love to see Swann break his hand, and Bresnan get hit on the helmet. Not because I want to see them in pain, but because that's the bodyline bowling they adopted against our tail and youngsters in this innings. Broke Yuvraj's hand, and intimidated our tailenders. Next time Bresnan trys to come on the front foot against an Indian pacer, he should know his head could get knocked the **** off. And as for the English being amazing players of the short ball, I recall Andrew Strauss being beaten for pace on bouncers by Zak, not once, but over 3 times? At what? 79mph? Just imagine them against someone doing that at 89mph.
