Trichromatic Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 Keeping Sree in the side is like giving chance to a batsmen with no temperament who scores one good 70 runs and gets out in single digit for 20 innings. Argument for him - he has ability to score. He made 70 runs on flat track once and won game for us. So ingore those 20 single digit score even if a tail-ender (Raina) contributes more than him overall.
saneindian Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Time has come now to ask Sreesanth to play the entire domestic season. Don't pick him for the national side and let him bowl a lot of overs on those flat wickets. Has been wrapped in cotton wool for so long. COmes to the national side, plays 2 tests, gets injured, goes through rehab and gets picked for the national side without playing first class cricket. The only way to force him to develop stamina is to not give him those comforts. Gagguly also referred to this when he said Sreesanth needs to be taken out of his comfor t zone. Otherwise the 4-5 years of his career that maybe left would go waste.

Domestic cricket comes 2nd. 1st check him into a mental institution because before the tour, Donkeysanth was tweeting he was almost 100% fit and would bowl 145/150kph! Clearly the dumb donkey is suffering from hallucinations/split personality disorder.

Fontaine Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Anderson showing just how badly the Donkey wasted the new ball. All he's done is pitch the ball up in the right area and get it to outswing. Too bad Sree was spraying it down legside or full and wide. Pathetic bowling from the clown.

He was bowling against good batsman ,not out of form batsman who are edging straight balls And walking when not nicking and we drop catches to allow them to get milestones
Midfielder Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Tell me this is a joke. I like Raina but comparing him to Sree in bowling frankly points to ignorance about sports in general. Sree>>>>>Raina.
CG Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Tell me this is a joke. I like Raina but comparing him to Sree in bowling frankly points to ignorance about sports in general. Sree>>>>>Raina. Mate we need scape goats as we cannot take defeats, the whole team has not performed .
Midfielder Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Mate we need scape goats as we cannot take defeats' date='the whole team has not performed .[/quote'] So true. If people cannot comprehend that I seriously question them. Pointing at Sree is not going to solve the problem. Man did well in the 2nd test enough to win but our batting gods were cold.
Lord Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 more than Sree or Ishant,I ask what the keck is Eric Simmons doing since his arrival 3 years back,I havent seen any improvement in any of our bowlers or a new guy making a mark.people diss Venky, but he was far better. Simmons needs to go

Simmons needs to go Earning money by kissing players ass.if fletcher does not sack him then I will lose respect for him.we do not have plans for any batsman just bowl outside off stump and pray.in venky time we used to bowl cross seam deliveries, slower balls, when pitch suited them.but we do not like indians as coaches as they are brown but a mediocore sa domesstic bowler will do as he is white
Fontaine Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 So true. If people cannot comprehend that I seriously question them. Pointing at Sree is not going to solve the problem. Man did well in the 2nd test enough to win but our batting gods were cold. No one is saying Sree is the sole problem. The issue is that we can't have three swing bowlers in the final XI. PK can already swing the ball both ways with much more control which makes Sree's outswing at pedestrian pace and inconsistent, uneconomical, wicketless spells redundant. More so because he doesn't have the work ethic, dedication to improve after 6 years of cricket so it's not going to happen anytime soon either. Stick with PK as the swing bowler, then hope ZAK comes back and start grooming other bowlers instead of giving Sree more and more unearned opportunities. Let out of form/unfit guys like Sree/Bhajji get back to domestic cricket and let them earn their recall if they are capable.

Simmons needs to go I hear you and you have a fair point. But the bowling coach can't force players to practice harder and be more committed. Read this interview of Prasad and it reveals the difficulties in dealing with bowlers that simply don't have the drive to improve themselves: http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/story/478229.html "It's about their attitude, it's about their commitment", Prasad told ESPNcricinfo. "Bowlers need discipline to get up every single day in the morning, hit the gym and bowl long spells. I have not seen many bowlers bowling one-two hours. You can't bowl 20 minutes in the nets and then bowl 20 overs in matches." During his India stint, he said, he found the bowlers' work load in the nets to be inadequate. "I was very disappointed with the amount of bowling that was going in nets. And with the amount of training: they weren't training hard, the bowlers weren't pushing themselves." And he was absolutely spot on about PK playing in England: Amongst Ishant's other peers, Prasad also talked about how Praveen Kumar's talent should be utilised, "I would play him in Tests in New Zealand and England. He has a great wrist position, control and can move the ball around at will." And of course he talked about Sree needing to be more disiplined to bowl the off stump line.

Prasad praises Ishant's work ethic,so he should be perservered.hard work should always matter over talent.selectors need to grow balls

Prasad praises Ishant's work ethic,so he should be perservered.hard work should always matter over talent.selectors need to grow balls And that's all it is. All the players can do is their best, if they do that then you can't criticize them too much. Ishant hasn't had a good series apart from the first two tests but he still runs in hard bowls are around 84-85mph even though he's played 6 test matches now back to back and bowled the most overs by any pace bowler this year. Same with PK. Yes he has his weakenesses but the guy is doing his best with 6 back to back tests, bowling long spells, holding up one end and constantly beating the bat. The English top order DON'T take him on because he's earned their respect by trying his best. But Sree is way down on pace in just his 2nd test this year (after SA series), can't bowl long spells, his stamina is awful and is fitness even worse. Sree hasn't/doesn't/isn't willing enough to do what it takes in practice, in net sessions, in his fitness and it clearly shows. THAT's why he's so inconsistent and a waste of time even though he's far more naturally talented than PK. I don't criticize/ridicule Sreesanth because he's not taking wickets. I criticize him because he's unwilling/unavailable to put in the hard work that others in this team put in. That means he's a coward and is cheating this team. That's shameful in my opinion.

They praised Ishant as he maintained his pace and worked hard. They didn't say that for Sree most of the time. Just maybe in 1 session like yesterday where he was trying a bit, they said he is doing ok. But rest of sessions, everyone criticized him.
