Cricketics Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 For a change, I am enjoying watching POnting bat. Both the games he has looked in sublime touch. What elegance. You might call him arrogant and stuff, but when it comes to batting, he's a top class batsman. Absolutely smashing the lankan bowlers. Great to see some godo batting instad of just big hitting. I hope he does well in test series too. It's good he retired himself from captaincy, he would eventually score good amount of runs now perhaps. Captaincy was getting to him.
Jersey #10 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Ponting deserved the century Well played m8:--D 90* (106)
punjabi_khota Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 That little ****er has a bit of fight left in him. I for PK and company in December
Jersey #10 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 If anything, he is all class! 100%...the drives and the hooks A true legend of the era
Bradman99 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I think relinguishing the captaincy is just what he and the team needed.
Jersey #10 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Cricinfo - Fifth ODI win in a row for Australia Say anything about OZ but they are still the most consistent team in ODIs! It's amazing how they are able to produced above par players at this rate. Their dominance may have gotten dim but the injured lion still knows how to fight.
urbestfriend Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 That little ****er has a bit of fight left in him. I for PK and company in December So you've already given up on Zak :((
VRV Singh Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I hope he is regaining form. Not nice seeing great batsmen struggle. Want to see the pull shot flowing again.. Just missed 70th hundred today.
Karan114 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I think relinguishing the captaincy is just what he and the team needed. Does seem like it, yes. Batting with more freedom now. Good couple of wins for Aus, these - Lanka are a good ODI team in their conditions.
saneindian Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 The Aussies have battered the Lankans at home so far. And the way spinners have struggled so far in the ODIs, the signs are not good for the Lankans. They better produce rank turners for test matches else would lose the test series. On Ounter, looks to be regaining his touch. But in the last 3-4 years, his ODI batting form has been quite good, has struggled a lot in the tests though. Will be intersting to see if he carries this form to the Tests.
SachDan Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 He seems to be getting back into form. Is it really possible at the age of 37? Ageing, with age hand-eye coordination deteriorates, slower reflexes..everything stacked against Pwnting, I don't think he can ever get back to form..:--D

I am a consultant, I was born to qualify my statements. :winky::winky:
Crookbond Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Stepping down from the captaincy has definitely freed up his mind.
Dark Warrior Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Offtopic: I've always been a big fan of punter's arrogance.
ravsdh Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 im going to the melbourne and sydney tests and do NOT want to see any punter tons!
Gotham Cronie Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Last 6 innings: 104, 34, 37*, 47, 53, 90*
Robelinda Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Love his batting, hate his personality, or at least his old personality as captain.
deepak_sach Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Last 6 innings: 104, 34, 37*, 47, 53, 90* three were against bangladesh ,so not counted....
