Keeping everything aside, Ponting looks in great touch

For a change, I am enjoying watching POnting bat. Both the games he has looked in sublime touch. What elegance. You might call him arrogant and stuff, but when it comes to batting, he's a top class batsman. Absolutely smashing the lankan bowlers. Great to see some godo batting instad of just big hitting. I hope he does well in test series too. It's good he retired himself from captaincy, he would eventually score good amount of runs now perhaps. Captaincy was getting to him.

He seems to be getting back into form.

Cricinfo - Fifth ODI win in a row for Australia Say anything about OZ but they are still the most consistent team in ODIs! It's amazing how they are able to produced above par players at this rate. Their dominance may have gotten dim but the injured lion still knows how to fight.

I think relinguishing the captaincy is just what he and the team needed.
Does seem like it, yes. Batting with more freedom now. Good couple of wins for Aus, these - Lanka are a good ODI team in their conditions.

The Aussies have battered the Lankans at home so far. And the way spinners have struggled so far in the ODIs, the signs are not good for the Lankans. They better produce rank turners for test matches else would lose the test series. On Ounter, looks to be regaining his touch. But in the last 3-4 years, his ODI batting form has been quite good, has struggled a lot in the tests though. Will be intersting to see if he carries this form to the Tests.

Is it really possible at the age of 37? Ageing, with age hand-eye coordination deteriorates, slower reflexes..everything stacked against Pwnting, I don't think he can ever get back to form..:--D

I said "seems". I am a consultant, I was born to qualify my statements. :winky::winky:
