DomainK Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I find it surprising when I see people trying to lose weight. No matter how much I eat' date=' I dont seem to put on any weight. But when I was a kid I was one of those fat ****ers whom everyone used to make fun of.[/quote'] You are one of the lucky guys with a very high metabolism. The rest of us don't have your super power. :((

akshayxyz Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I tried to help ++.. ~100 gm carbs to go with 30 gm of protein... and, absolutely no fiber... not a very healthy meal.. though it might be an erroneous labeling too...can't believe 100 gm carbs and 0 fiber.
akshayxyz Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I was thinking of having this for lunch and the protein shake for dinner. hmmm, still you can have it at both lunch and dinner - all the carbs you need in a day, you can get from Breakfast and evening snacks. I do not have exact idea what your objective is for replacing Dinner with Protein shake. Assuming it is - weight/fat loss. Well in that case - protein - shakes or otherwise are no magic foods. If you are not utilizing the macros (macro-nutrients) for what they meant to do - then everything will either get stored or used/excreted (if you are blessed genetically). There is only one keyword for weight loss - calorie deficit. Which you can achieve either by working harder ( - preferred - gym or some cardio-heavy activity), and/or by eating lesser (not too less). Protein shake is most useful pre/post/during workout. Or only if you can not get regular meal (matter of convenience)... or if you just can't get enough of protein from your regular meals. Also, one negative of replacing your regular dinner with protein shake would be - protein shake will not make you feel full. You might still feel hungry very soon... which is not good, if you are aiming to lose weight. So - keeping everything else same - it is actually not very wise (economically and your weight management goal wise) - to replace your regular dinner by protein shake.

Most skinny friends I have, are skinny because of an low appetite , not high metabolism.
Jersey #10 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Subway for both lunch and dinner. I don't know how those huge subs are so low in calories and fat. It's healthy too (assuming your neighborhood subway has fresh produce etc.) :winky:
Ram Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Ya may not be a bad idea at all. I will keep that in mind. The same with the exercise thingy, I have a lazy ass. Sorry to break it to you dude, but you better get your ass up on that treadmill and start running. It is by far, the single most effective fat-loss exercise you can ever find. Its going to be hard at first, but if you want results, you better be prepared to do some serious sweating. Dieting can only take you so far. At some point, your body will start craving for those calorie-rich foods and your will indulge again. You need exercise, plain and simple. And not the 'Cardio-for-kids' type like the cross-trainer/elliptical bull-sh!t. You HAVE to start running.
