jonas10 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 God this is easily the worst series ive ever seen in my life. The best series Ive ever seen is the 2001 with Australia where the question was what was better the batting or the bowling i.e. Bhajji vs VVS. How about here...the polar opposite what has let you down more? For me, for all the talk about the awful bowling its gotta be the atrocious batting. Yes, yes, scores of +500 are almost unheard of these days but India's strength has always been in its top 6 batsmen + Dhoni. Okay fine so every match someone is hitting a century for England where the hell are our batsmen? Before we throw the bowlers under the bus by and large the batsmen have not done their job - dravid. Sigh - long days ahead. Its 1990s all over again.
Trichromatic Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Batting. Bowlers lacked skills to utilize the conditions. There was always some help, but they were not good enough. Though it doesn't change the fact that they bowled badly. Batting was more disappointing because they failed on flat tracks. Our top 7 batsmen managed 1241 runs in this series so far. 1241 runs in 7 innings!
Midfielder Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Batting. Haven't crossed 300 yet on which English team making 600 run look easy.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 What really has hurt us is the total lack of fight and spineless display shown on the tour so far - be it batting, bowling or fielding. It's total lack of pride in their performance and general air of not giving a s**t about the series which hurts.
yoda Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Batting without question. We knew that our bowlers minus Zak were a mediocre bunch, but our batting maharathis barring Dravid have been a disaster, and Dravid too failed in one of the 4 tests.
Karan114 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 What really has hurt us is the total lack of fight and spineless display shown on the tour so far - be it batting' date=' bowling or fielding. It's total lack of pride in their performance and general air of not giving a s**t about the series which hurts.[/quote'] Agreed. Batting, bowling...it is all immaterial after a point if the entire team (except a couple of players) couldn't give a **** and are effectively laughing at millions of us fans who follow them so closely.
anotherhawkeye Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Neither. It's captaincy and coaching. There is absolutely no excuse for a team to not show up, not fight when down. Thats what this team is known for, fighting when the chips are down. Gary leaves and suddenly this team has become a wuss on the field.
Sidhoni Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Batting-not even one score of 300+ plus. Poll :orderorder:
Ramzz Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 All 3 aspects of the game. We just sucked in this series...probably a glimpse into the near future before we start winning again.
Rahul Dravid Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 What really has hurt us is the total lack of fight and spineless display shown on the tour so far - be it batting' date=' bowling or fielding. It's total lack of pride in their performance and general air of not giving a s**t about the series which hurts.[/quote']
saneindian Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 The leadership. Dhoni has got totally exposed as a leader in this series. His decision making has been questionable, player's selection have been illogical (RPS and Raina for this test), field placements have at times made no sense, there has been absolutely no communication with the bowlers (especially Sree and Mishra), England have been allowed to score runs freely far too many times. I hope this is just a low phase in his career. However if if things continue to go downhill, may not be long before he loses his captaincy.
bunny Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Bowling easily. Giving 400+ in every match (including the tour matches) on seaming wickets. If not, we could have won at least one of the tests.
bulbul Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 The Old dialogue used in Ashes long time Back.. Can't Bat , Can't Bowl , can't Filed... Can :haha:

Not correct, it has just shown another side to Dhoni's leadership. Dhoni calmness and rigid attitude which at most times proved very successful, here has proved to be a failure...

The Only time Dhoni Captaincy is better than Team is 2007 T20 ... All other time he had Very Very good team at his disposal..... ***Even CSK is Very good team in Last 4 years
Ravi. Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Bowling. Worst bowling performance i have ever seen by any team.
vayuu1 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Bowling. Worst bowling performance i have ever seen by any team. neither batting nor bowling nor fielding ,its the attitude ,the carelessness, the unwillingness that has caused us match.
