Well the Wi tour would have only helped if it was timed better. As it happend it was far too close to the Eng tour and with no real break it meant our pacemen had bowled quite a lot over the space of a few weeks. So there could have been a post IPL break, then WI tour, then a break then Eng tour. The WI ODIS could have been scrapped. But due to no time that was not possible, so there should have been NO tour to WI. A good break after IPL, followed by a camp in India for the Eng tour probables, working on fitness and planning for Eng. Then 3 warm up matches in Eng of a good standard- at least two of those vs a county and Lions if possible. If that had meant a 3 test and not 4 test series, then so be it. With that GG and VS should have been asked to undego treatment during the IPL, Zak too if necessary. Post WC the players mental and physical well being should have got serious scrutiny and any issues dealt with

I just sense that the young ones and the oldies must have experienced the generation gap ever since that moment. Given the ump asked Dhoni thrice and Dhoni kept the appeal going on all 3 times and then later to be convinced by Sachin and Dravid to change course probably impacted Dhoni more than anyone else. And once the captain loses confidence the team loses it. I still believe that the decision to call back Bell was the right thing to do. Just that our team didn't think about how it would affect their own self worth. With hind sight I can say we lost the series that very moment.

As we have already discussed this before The recall of bell did not have much of an impact as he did not add much value after that and also the Indian team was praised to uphold the spirit of cricket But it sends a signal to the opposition that we are not agressive enough or showing the body language that we are here to win at any cost.Test cricket is a lot about mental strength and when we lose little mind games like that the opposition can take us for a ride....Similarly as I mentioned time and time again Dhoni bowling on the 1st day too just changed the whole scenario and the English body language definetely changed after that. Take the WC SF for eg; just look at Munaf and Nehra's body language it was completely different from what we generally expect from them or Dhoni in the finals we could just sense something special was around the corner. Agressiveness doesn't necessarily mean trying to slog while batting or sledging the opposition it is about taking advantage of a situation and turning it into your favour.Cook's near triple hundred was not attacking innings by any means but you could see that he was willing to fight it out.
