The last 12 days were one such opportunity with the country facing a crisis, there was an even chance that things could have turned violent if MMS hadn't given in. The congress party was facing embarrassment, there was chaos in the country and possibility of a constitutional crisis. You would think that a leader would sense all these things and seize the moment. You would think that Rahul baba would come out and show his fine understanding of the situation and sense what the country needs and perhaps give suggestions to the PM, even present himself as the face of the party to the media. But ALAS, not to be, instead Rahul baba read out an asinine statement in parliament equating the lokpal to the EC without tackling the issue head on. Cometh the hour, cometh the man. So where was Rahul Baba or did he cum somewhere else. :--D
bulbul Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Gunner Are you new to Indian politics..when did Rahul solved any of the issues from begining.He will seen nowhere when something starts only comes at the end that also if issue is going to be solved or else he will just absent.This happened to every issues 2G scam,Adarsh,Black money etc.. Wherever serious debate needed this guy will vanish.He is just projected by his Party and Media as the saviour of this counrty. some time i feel congress creates issue intentionally so that Rahul can get as much as projection from media as the only solution to this country problems :) i know he is going to PM one day..we cant help..

Do you think even 50 people come for his Political speaches if he is not PM.... Rahul is almost similar to Manchurian candidate ...may be his motives are not same as in that Movie but the method is same... he will become PM not because of his qualities..which he have none..but because of that fake Surname and lot of other electorate issues such as Religion,Cast and illiterate voters... I always wonder why No one highlights the Achivement or lack of it Rahul done in Amethi..for all the talk of projecting this guy as a PM candidate even his party can't show any thing out of ordinary projects in Amethi..I wonder how that constituency never comes into media scrutiny..

Varun took a stance which went beyond BJP official line and in a way I think his stance added some dynamics for BJP to back Anna openly a day later. The more pathetic thing is the so-called young politicos - the gen next of Pilot, Scindia, etc. Somehow they all seem to come out as Nakul Sahdevs behind Arjun (Rahul) Gandhi. Is it because they are forced to take such an approach or are they seriously so dumb to seek leadership from a wise young man on every damn thing?

Now, if the guy comes up the ranks and does good work I have no problem backing him (like the way I backed his mother coz she is a true leader). But for that to happen he needs to do more than just photo ops with some poor families. I think the people of India are no longer as stupid as our parents' generations were. We are not going to back someone just coz of his family. People of India will put him in his place whether or not congress will do so. If Congress wants to save face and remain relevant in Indian politics then they must move beyond Nehru family for senior leadership.

We have a feudal culture and there are just too many people who are taken in by the Gandhi name. It can possibly be circumvented if BJP itself plays the "Gandhi" card and decides to promote Varun .
