Jersey #10
That's how you develop the winning attitude :haha: omg, look at the first inning totals....it's like if you win the toss, go for bat and post the highest total possible! no wonder we don't have good bowlers...there is no incentive to become one anyway! Raghav_12
Goa axe skipper Asnodkar for agreeing to call off chase http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/domestic-cricket/ranji-trophy/Goa-axe-skipper-Asnodkar-for-agreeing-to-call-off-chase/articleshow/10636696.cms Goa axe skipper Asnodkar for agreeing to call off chase PANAJI: The Goa Cricket Association has initiated disciplinary action against captain Swapnil Asnodkar after he unilaterally decided to call off the chase against Maharashtra in a Ranji Trophy plate battle at the Academy ground in Porvorim on Sunday. Goa had conceded a 38-run first innings lead to Maharashtra on the morning of the concluding day. But as debutant Ganeshraj Narvekar grabbed five wickets and Maharashtra were bundled out for 91, the hosts were left with a seemingly achievable target of 130 in 19 overs. Asnodkar and big-hitting batsman Amit Yadav took to the crease but Yadav was bowled almost immediately by Samad Fallah. Abhishek Raut then took over, stroked the ball nicely and also hit a boundary. But, shockingly, Asnodkar decided to call off the match when 13 mandatory overs were still to be bowled and Goa had 112 runs to score for an outright win. Goa were 18-1 in six overs when the captains agreed to settle for a draw. Asnodkar's decision numbed the handful of spectators who were hoping for a last hour treat. Even the players and administrators, reacted with disbelief, but what followed was even more shocking. "Disciplinary action has been taken against Swapnil Asnodkar. He is not in the (Goa) team for the next two matches against Assam and J& K," GCA secy Prasad Phaterpekar said. Looks bizarre to me. 112 runs in 13 overs in a FC match was always going to be uphill task. Dhoni had not tried even 80-90 runs in 15 overs. Link to comment
gaurav92
By that standard, the whole Indian Team must have been sacked for not chasing 80 odd in 15 overs Link to comment
Sidhoni
why do you have "@m!t$" written beneath your username :hmmm: Coz he is amits Link to comment
Precambrian
Looks like selectors were pissed at not getting their dose of tontee-tontee batting istyle on the last day.. Sacked for not agreeing to chase @ 10 p.o... what a joke! Link to comment

Sacked for not agreeing to chase @ 10 p.o... what a joke! That's what. I completely fail to understand why poor Asnodkar was sacked over this. Only possible reason I can think of is Goan cricket head wanted his son's superb debut performance (a fif-er) to result in absolute win which Asnodkar didn't let happen. But this is just my speculation. Link to comment

Yoda-esque
Me thinks that the Goan Cricket Board has been having a lil too much Feni Link to comment
Pagalpanti
Thing is administrators don't have the basic knowledge that t20 is not test cricket. It might be possible in t20 but how on earth its possible in an FC game to chase at 10 rpo when all fielders are on boundary? No wonder we have practice t20 games ahead of test tours. Link to comment
rajmarie
A lot of draws in the 1st round of games. This shows that BCCI never learns. Getting better wickets & having higher quality Ranji games is just not for them. They are better off with watching the calender & seeing how to accomodate another meaning less ODI/T20 series...& see how to produce ghatiya domestic players for IPL Link to comment

Exactly. Teams just bat & bat. No wonder....all our quick bowlers slow down just so that they can be in the field for 3 days. BCCI never ever will learn or do something abt it. they simply dont care. IPL is their money maker now. Not Indian cricket. They have done nothing to get sporting domestic wickets..or fixed the stupid Ranji points system....Hoping that major sponsership dries up for BCCI. Only then when their 5-star hotel parties dries up....that they will have to act to get this thing in order....& that day is not far. Once Sachin eventually retires..... Link to comment
Yoda-esque
That tells us 2 things..Either the pitches are bad or the bowling sucks..I am inclined to think its the latter Link to comment
