If he is primarily a batsman,it is not much of an achievement. Rajat Bhatia has a batting average of 46.36. He has also played more FC matches - 72 matches to Binny's 31.

Binny performed well in this Season only...i am not telling Binny is good player or not..but He helped us maintain Top position in elite group this year..simple..doesnt matter how faaaaast he bowls or runs ..results are more important.. Without Manish we dont have a aggressive batsmen in middle order ...Binny done that job well atleast for time being

Ranji Round-up: Victories for Railways, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Baroda and MP By Dibyasundar Nayak | Dec 9 As Ranji Trophy is heading towards its business end, teams seem to have upped their ante and are trying to produce results from the last few rounds of league matches. Every point will be vital from here on in framing the quarterfinal line up and deciding the teams that will be relegated to the plate league next season. As a result, 5 out of 6 league matches in the 5th round of Ranji Elite League saw results contrary to the matches in the initial rounds when teams were content with securing a draw. The current round also witnessed some big and powerful teams biting the dust against comparatively weaker sides. This has brought life to the point table. Murali Karthik stars in the Railways victory At Ghaziabad: Railways registered its first victory of the season with an outright win over the powerful UP. Railways, which had only 2 draws and 2 losses before this match in its bag, defeated the Uttar Pradesh with a margin of an innings and 94 runs. Left arm spinner Murali KartikÃÔ five-for, his second this season, powered the Railways to dismiss the UP team for 201 runs in the second innings. UP had to face follow on after being all out for a paltry 79 runs thanks to Railways captain Sanjay BangarÃÔ five wicket haul. Bangar was supported by Krishnakant Upadhyay who took 4 wickets in the 1st innings. After being put to bat by the UP captain who won the toss, Railways scored 374 with opener hivkant ShuklaÃÔ 98 and Nitin Bille scoring his maiden century. Bille who debuted in the last match against Mumbai scored 123 off 230 balls. A sudden collapse of the lower order restricted the Railways score to 374 but later the score proved to be more than enough as UP couldnÃÕ surpass it even after batting twice. Railways won by an innings and 94 runs At Bhubaneswar: The fear of demotion to the plate group looms large for the team Odisha after it suffered yet another defeat. Karnataka defeated the hapless Odisha team by 139 runs and moved to the top of the Group A points table with 20 points. On the fourth day of the match, Karnataka resumed their play from the overnight score of 169/6. Odisha bowlers failed to take any wicket in the first session much to the disappointment of the local supporters gathered at the ground. A determined Amit Verma kept his head down and kept on piling up the overall lead for Karnataka. He found an able supporter in Sunil Raju who scored 50 runs. Raju was the only Karnataka wicket that fell in the day and Karnataka declared their innings at 277/7 as soon as Verma scored his first class careerÃÔ 6th century. Chasing an unlikely winning target of 301 runs, Odisha kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. Stuart Binny ran through the Odisha batting lineup with the batsmen providing least resistance. Bengal, following on in the second innings after being all out for 176 in the first, was able to score 246 with major contribution from Laxmi Ratan Shukla (73). Chasing a target of 32 runs, Tamilnadu openers reached there in 27 balls. In the first innings, Tamil Nadu scored 391 with contributions from K Vasudevadas (106) and Avinab Mukund (83). Tamil Nadu won by 10 wickets At Vadodara: In form Ambati RayuduÃÔ 2nd ton of the season helped Baroda to defeat the Gujarat by a huge 241 runs margin. Chasing a target of 365 runs, the Gujarat batting lineup caved in within 48 overs with only 123 runs on the score board. BarodaÃÔ Gagandeep Singh, who had finished wicket-less in the first inings, took 5 wickets to destroy opponentÃÔ batting might. Baroda, batting first in the match, had scored 203 runs in the first innings in response to which Gujarat could score 169 runs only. In the second innings, however, Baroda put a much better performance by posting 330 runs. Amabati Rayudu scored his second century this season with a spectacular innings of 105. The innings was studded with 18 fours and 1 six. Baroda is now at the second place in the group B point table with 13 points; one less than Tamil Nadu. Baroda won by 241 runs At Indore: Yesterday, in Indore, Virender Sehwag fascinated the spectators with his amazing stroke-play and today the same place witnessed a very exciting Ranji game. In the end, the home side, Madhya Pradesh chased down the target of 299 runs with two wickets in hand. DelhiÃÔ famed batsmen failed to put enough score on the board to put pressure on Madhya Pradesh team and on the last day when everyone expected the bowlers like Nehera, Rajat Bhatia and Pradeep Sangwan to stop MP from chasing the trick target, they failed. Rajat Bhatia did pick 3 wickets but was more or less ineffective as MP batsmen played him with ease. Veteran bowler Asish Nehra and youngster Pradeep Sangwan could not take a single wicket in the second innings but gave away runs at 3.16 and 4.5 economy rates respectively. On a substandard high school ground wicket, Delhi made 158 runs in the first innings with TP Sudhindra of MP clearing 4 Delhi batsman. MP with the hope to take a big first innings lead was disappointed when it could muster 156 runs only. Riding on Mithun Manhans 97, Delhi scored 296 in the second innings and set the winning target of 299 for MP. On that pitch, the target of 299 was not an easy one and it was evident when MP lost two wickets on one run only. Delhi must have sensed victory there but Naman Ojha(107) and Devendra Bundela(68) had a crucial partnership of 186 runs for the 3rd wicket. But once Bundela and Ojha departed, MP lost a series of wickets. It was the 22 year old Udit Birla who debuted this season remained not out till the end and ensured the hard earned victory for MP with his 49 not out. P won by 2 wickets At Rajkot: The 39 time champion Mumbai was on the mat against Saurashtra thanks to few striking performances by some young players from Saurashtra. First the two centurions Chirag Pathak (116) and Bhushan Chauhan (157) helped Saurashtra to score 580 in the first innings and then Sandip ManiarÃÔ five-for ensured Mumbai was all out for 276 to face an embarrassing follow on. In the second innings, Mumbai saved its pride as Wasim Jaffer shined with a not out century and Mumbai finished the match at 276/4.
