Any of guys here have expereince in connecting CPU to TV...any side effects to TV by doing this.. mainly i want to buy a Mac Mini and connect it to TV...i dont know whether this is Possible.. TV have PC output...similer to what we see in standarda Computer LCD displays.. * i didnt asked thhis question in TV STB thread as thought this is a different topic..if merging required plz do that
Holysmoke Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 It's possible. Just make sure your 22" LCD has an HDMI input. Mac mini has an HDMI port. Otherwise you will need to buy a HDMI to component cable/ VGA converter.

bulbul Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 TV have HDMI input..i also have a HDMI cable used to connect IPAD to TV.. So the next question is the Basic version of Mac mini enough for Browsing,watching video and Normal gaming...or i have to go for more RAM version ?

I want to know if people are using TV regulerly as a Computer screen...Only thing is i am More Inclined towards Apple products after buying Ipad :)

But Samsung also have expertise in Making computer screens.. as they have put the PC out...they should have connsidered the effects also..Normally designing a product with different interfaces they should consider the effects aslo.. I just want to take peoples experience regarding this matter
Prakat Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 @dumdum if you're planning to watch video on your tv via your mini then it's all good. not so if you are going to be staring at lots of text. switch to a computer monitor when you do that, it will handle that better. there is a big difference in pixel pitch between lcd monitors and lcd tvs. also hike up your ram to twice its original configuration and you should be cool.

Shane Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Using a TV for a monitor, Plasma not advisable, mainly due to the power consumption and image rentention issues, I dont prefer to use it myself. Using a LCD/LED however wont pose any such problems. Does your Samsung have DLNA capabilities, may be you can connect wirelessly
