Robelinda Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Yeah but our bowlers are even worse. So if we make runs' date=' the chances are that your batsmen will match or better it.[/quote'] We don't have batsmen!!! Certainly not of the calibre of your big 4. We have an opener who can't bat past 50 (Watson), Hughes who just has no idea at all, Ponting you just don't know if he is going up or down, Clarke is just crap, Hussey won't even make it to 2012 after being destroyed by Steyn and Tahir, Usman- who knows, could be as good as Cook or as bad as Raina. I don't even want to think what sort of ass handing will happen to Lyon.
CG Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 If aussie play slow trundlers like copeland bowling 120km against india ,we will just have to worry about 2 bowlers harris and johnson and their spinner will not trouble us.it will be hard to take 20 wickets for both teams
CG Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Yeah but our bowlers are even worse. So if we make runs' date=' the chances are that your batsmen will match or better it.[/quote'] how?please prove your point .if zak and bhajji go on tour i cannot see how you can say that bowling attack consisting of spinner copeland, ryan harris, johnson ,and a spinner from club cricket is better.

Australia's bowling>India's bowling This is in Aus obviously. We will murder them in India.

Sachin=GOD Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I hope you are not the one who had started the thread stating "How can we lose even a ingle test this summer?" No.
Pagalpanti Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I'd be surprised if we even draw the series not because of England debacle but prior to this series we often felt it difficult in Aus and easier in England. So I don't see how we'll find it easy this time, Australia are on the rise, sure we'll be better prepared than how we were in England but still I don't think we can win with this kind of bowling attack. 2-1 in Australia's favour.

Pagalpanti Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 That's because then the Australians were awesome and the English sucked. :giggle: They weren't really the same unbeatable Australian side in 2008 yet we couldn't draw let alone win the series. Why? because our bowling sucked, I know it clicked in Perth but we still failed to do much damage in the series, so I still maintain that unless we have good bowling attack, at least 2 good pacers backed by an attacking spinner we wont be able to draw/win the series down under.

Cricket Tragic Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 but point is bhajji is not as useless than their spinner . He is in Australian conditions. We also rely on the spinner more than Australia.
CG Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 He is in Australian conditions. We also rely on the spinner more than Australia. no he is not particularly against current australian batting lineup who have so many right handers.comparing a guy with 400 test wickets to a club cricketer is not on sorry.also who said we depend on spin whatever tests we have won have been due to fast bowlers go check stats we have won home or away due to fast bowlers.
vamos_rafa Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 I think Zak bade his final goodbye to international test cricket at Lords this summer. Darty will always be himself' date=' so dont expect much from him. If Ishant can up his game somehow and if Varun gets a chance and proves to be the surprise package then we may have some sting in the attack. However, I do not see Ishant playing either. I think his injury is going to be a major concern in the months to come.[/quote'] I don't think so that we have seen the last of Zak. He would be back. Most of the players injured now, would or rather should contemplate on getting themselves ready for the tour down under. Ishant should be the leader but somehow, he gets a bit too up and down with his form. He needs a senior ally to guide him. I don't understand this hoopla over Varun Aaron. Let him play a few ODIs then we would come to know his mettle as a bowler, let alone being a test match quality bowler.

Yes, we did suck at MCG and at the second innings at SCG but we were at par on the road at Adelaide.
ShebbySB Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 This is my India squad for Aussie series:-First XI:-Sehwag,Gambhir,Dravid,Sachin,Laxman,Rahane,Dhoni,Harbhajan,Zaheer,Aaron,Ishant.Reserves:Mukund,Yuvraj,Kohli,Gautam(Wk/Bat),Ashwin/Ojha,Praveen,Umesh/Tyagi.Pujara is not in the squad as he is injured right now & will be fit just before the series so he will be out of sorts.Raina,Sreesanth,Mishra should be out along with Saha & Munaf......they are just not test quality. But I've serious doubt over Zaheer & Ishant's fitness.....both are carrying an injury.18 man squad should be picked coz we know how injury prone they are.
IKnowU Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Only thing we need to worry about is bowlers. Ojha, Ishant..................................rest are iffy Zaheer, Sree, Dart, Munna, Pk, Varun Aaron :giggle:
