Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his teammates skipped and Ã…Ãot boycotted the ICC awards function in London on Monday primarily because some big BCCI ego came in the way. It is learnt that a senior Chennai-based Board of Control for Cricket in India official asked the team to ÅÂvoid the most respected awards in the cricketing world. Å´ince his office was not formally invited, he asked the players to avoid attending the function, an insider told HT on Tuesday. Å¢nd the players were happy to oblige. After the drubbing theyÃ×e got at the hands of England,... they had no problems in taking minds off cricket. Though the International Cricket Council did not invite the official, it did send a formal invite to the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. The official was unavailable for comment, while BCCI chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty refused to speak on the matter. BoardÃÔ vice-president Rajiv Shukla, however, was at the function presided over by Sharad Pawar, the ICC chief. Another reason being given for Team IndiaÃÔ no-show was that some players took offence to being told ÅÕo be ready for the function in the invite. It was a shame that the Indian team members did not attend the event though they were in London and invited, said ICC CEO Haroon Lorgat.

Well Done team India. I dont understand these winners. Dhoni is given spirit my ass award for letting Bell cheat and not speaking a word against spineless ICC officials and its toothless rules. If it was any other sport cheat would have been punished with ban. Cricketer of year cant manage a win against Irish side in all important world cup game. There was nothing special on the pitch . All these cricketer of year(Cook and Trott) were watching through that balcony at Trent Bridge and ganging up like street thugs so that Bell can cheat. To me Trott is a complete eyesore with his tuk tuk game. Even Umar Akmal is way more exciting to watch.

I don't know about the batsmen but the Indian seamers are so slow that even though they started for the ceremony they did not reach there on time. :--D
