Cricket Tragic Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 1) India vs West Indies 1991 B&H India made just 126 and managed to get the tie against a pretty strong WI batting line up. WI looked down and out but a good partnership between Ambrose and Cummins almost took them home. Tendulkar came on to bowl having not bowled a single over in the match and took the final wicket. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrN-CQU-r9M]India vs West Indies TIED ONE DAY MATCH 1991 PERTH SACHIN TENDULKAR! - YouTube[/ame] 2) India vs Zim 1993 Hero Cup India made a pretty good score of 248 in the Hero Cup but Zimbabwe's middle and lower middle order played brilliantly. 10 were needed off the last over with 1 wicket in hand and Zim made 9 with Streak run out off the last ball. 3) India vs Zim 1997 tri-series in SA Robin Singh's game. The match appeared to be lost when Jadeja was dismissed but Robin Singh played one of his finest knocks to bring us back into the game. 2 were needed and the last delivery was actually a wide but Prasad ran down the pitch and Robin Singh had no option but to run and he was run out. We got the run for the wide and the match was tied. 4) India vs England 2011 WC 5) England vs India 2011 I'm guessing that everyone watched the last 2 games. Vote for your favourite in the poll and rank the games in the thread.
ganeshran Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Watched the last 3. My favorite is the Robin Singh one because we looked completely out of the game when he came in to bat and he almost took us home
Trichromatic Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Best equal score game was one which Pakistan lost because of Abdul Qadir.
Cricket Tragic Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 Please rank them. :orderorder:
Raghav_12 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 World cup 2011 is best. A really high scoring tie - more difficult than low scoring tie, probabilistically speaking. Second would be the one involving WI in 1991. India managed to defend 126 runs in that match.
nikred Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Watched the last 3. My favorite is the Robin Singh one because we looked completely out of the game when he came in to bat and he almost took us home I can never forget watching Edo Brandes celebrate the victory that never happened. :cantstop:
StatsRock Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I watched the Ind-Zim 1997 and Ind-WI 1991 ones. Ind-WI is what I remember the most - pretty deadly pitch. Also saw Ind-Pak Mar 20 1987 game where India was declared winner for losing less wickets.
TheYuvi02 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 world cup 2011 was disgusting and showed how **** our bowling is and without zaheer we would have lose that match by 8 wickets........ not to mention i hate flat pitches so its not that one. I didnt like any of these matches and didnt watch the west indies or zimbabwe one
vamos_rafa Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I always prefer games where the pitch is really difficult to bat on and the batters are tested against good quality bowling. Never liked the matches on Roads. My vote goes with the 1st one.
Cricket Tragic Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 Which genius voted from the last one? :hmmm:
vamos_rafa Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Few intereting facts about the 1st tie: 1) India were playing four fast bowlers!!! I don't know how many times has that happened? 2) We tied the match in the 41st over, i.e when all the other regular bowlers had run out of the overs. Sachin was the 1st of the lucky part-timers as mentioned by Ian Chappell.
