Had he not been picked for this odi series, he would not have got a send off in odi's. I am glad he has been picked and he still looks very fit and trying to improve even at this age. Great player in tests, good player in odis, Hats off.:hatsoff:

It is not. He has never played an Innings like Sachin or Dhoni. Dhoni won us the ODI series in 2006 in Pakistan . Sachin won us the CB series in Aus. Dravid has done this in Test matches but in ODI;s he has played a minor but nonetheless important role. His impact has been less in ODI's because he could rarely go into top gear like the others.His SR is not far behind Ponting but ponting could turn it on whenever he needed to. In Test Matches , He has been our best batsman.

:cantstop::cantstop: Our best ODI player surely is Saurabh Tiwary. I love the way he bats - fearless, devoid of any care, exciting. Proper footwork and getting to the pitch of the ball is for sissies.

Dravid has never been a flamboyant strokemaker to play an impactful innings. He has bailed us out of many precarious situations under some really challenging circumstances. His game makes him more of an "accumulator" which means he amasses majority of his runs in singles, braces and some odd boundaries. He has played the role of a sheet anchor in the side, kept wickets when we didn't had a decent W/k bat. What more do you want from a player? Yes, he wasn't the most destructive batsman in the ODIs, but he was someone who did his job honestly and did that pretty decently as well. He may not have made 183* like Dhoni or 200* like Sachin. But he has partnered in some very good partnerships for India. His 153 at H'bad, or the 145 at Taunton still makes me doff my hats to this Champion :hatsoff:
