Dravid_TheWall Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Why was Sree not chosen for the ODI series and this despite so many injuries? I had the pleasure of meeting this guy and he is hardworking, takes his cricket seriously. It's nice to see his philosophical and religious side. MS just doesn't like sree. He may be an expensive ODI bowler but he is better than RP, VK a thousand times. He played the test series and was used to the conditions. Look at how many chances Ishant has got despite bowling only one decent spell to Punter in Australia and recently taking apart the crappy WI. Sree needs a run in all formats bar t20 and be given his confidence. When be bowls beautifully, he will get players out on merit unlike Ishant who just bowls consistently in an unthreatening manner.
Stuge Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 his attitude on the field is bit of a problem ,and yes as a ODI bowler he sucks .
Number Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Sree's economy was touching 5 from time to time in bowler friendly conditions in Eng test series, one can think what would've happened in ODIs. But again our pacers in this series were pathetic and can't defend them. I would say it's time we start giving chances to young bowlers.

I do agree with youth, but we need that aggression too on the field. Sree had an injury problem in the test series trust me, it wasn't reported but I saw he was bowling slow in nets and not in rhythm. The very nexy day in the test match the commentator said himself that Sree doesn't look himself with pace down to 120k. This guy has got 5 fors in some tough matches and I think he is an integral part of our test team. Considering we don't have many bowlers coming through, I think Sree should be in the squad at least, he will take wickets and that is something we haven't done well even in ODI's.

Dravid_TheWall Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 That's all show man, in reality MS doesn't back Sree in internationals and let him express himself. :icflove:
Ravi. Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 We dont want useless dramebaaz in the team.
Pagalpanti Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 First let him treat himself with dignity, he behaves like a moron on field.
Dravid_TheWall Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 We dont want useless dramebaaz in the team. Yes we will just make do with useless players like RP, Unadkat, Vinay Sree would have been more useful than the ones we played in the ODI series. Seamers were appalling.
Pagalpanti Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 ^ fans like you have a template saved. "__________" would have been more useful than the ones we played. Put the name accordingly :giggle:
ganeshran Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Its not like Sree didnt get his chances in ODIs - he just didnt make the most of them Dhoni selected him in the WC final - the biggest match of everyone's career. His bowling was ordinary then too.
Dravid_TheWall Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 ^ fans like you have a template saved. Put the name accordingly :giggle: That's actually most fresh Indian fans. British Indian fans tend to have more perspective. For example, I called for India to play 5 bowlers in the ODI series due to the front line bowlers being pathetic, yet most on ICF wanted the typical 4 man attack. In the end India changed to 5 man to show some fight. Sree should have played, end of. It was a no brainer why the guy was not chosen.

Cric_is_Life Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Sree should have played in place VK the hopeless..
rahulrulezz Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Plz don't call that monkey a pacer. He is a more of a drama queen player who once in a while bowl one good spell n rest of time bowls rubbish. Lol at him crying after getting slapped n calls himself a fast bowler
Dravid_TheWall Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 Plz don't call that monkey a pacer. He is a more of a drama queen player who once in a while bowl one good spell n rest of time bowls rubbish. Lol at him crying after getting slapped n calls himself a fast bowler He is actually our quickest bowler who is reasonably threatening. Varun/Yadav are untried and I doubt as wicket taking as Sree judging by their records. One spell to KP in the last test Sree was fired up, giving stares to KP and cracking up to 90mph. He does lack consistency, but if he had the confidence of his captain it would make a difference. I told him I liked the send off he gave to Symonds, the guy started smiling!
