I saw Tendulkar running between wickets on a horse: Afridi

Islamabad, Pakistan. In a sensational disclosure, Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has claimed that Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar cheated by riding a horse to cover the distance between the wickets when he should have been using his legs. Afridi said that Sachin rode the horse again and again and went on to score a century against Pakistan in a 2005 ODI match at Ahmedabad, which India lost by 3 wickets. Ū clearly saw it, Afridi recalled, Ūndia batted first and I still remember Sachin and Sehwag coming out in the field riding on a big white horse, which had a pink tail and red hoofs. The reins of the horse were held by Sachin while Sehwag was riding behind him, clutching onto him like a baby. Ū thought it was some Indian way to make a grand entry as they do in various events and ceremonies, so I kept quiet at that moment, Afridi said, Å£ut I was surprised when the horse stood back on the field even as Sachin and Sehwag took charge to bat. Afridi claims that he took up the issue with ground umpires, but both of them failed to see any horse on the field. He even asked them to call up the third umpire and verify it through video recordings, but shockingly even the third umpire couldnÃÕ spot any horse on the ground. Ūt was shocking, Afridi shared his frustration, Ÿe always knew that India cheated and used unfair means through BCCI, but this was a total shocker. Even now when I go back and look at the match recordings, I donÃÕ see any horse. Clearly, they have used advanced technology and removed the horse from the recordings. Sachin Tendulkar riding a horse Sachin Tendulkar, as seen by Shahid Afridi. Afridi claims that he had to continue with the match as Inzamam-ul-Haq, the captain of Pakistani team in that match, too failed to see the horse and instead asked Afridi to concentrate on the match. ŵhis totally broke my confidence and I couldnÃÕ take any wickets in the match, Afridi revealed the hitherto secret incidents that took place six years ago, Ū couldnÃÕ believe when people failed to see Sachin getting on the horse as soon as he played a shot and going to the other end riding on a horse. ŵhis was the reason Sehwag got run out, Afridi provided a ÅÑroof to back his allegations, Å´ehwag failed to match the pace of the horse. Next batsman in was Dhoni, who could run as fast as the horse, so he didnÃÕ get run out, but he was surprisingly caught by Kamran Akmal behind the wicket. The next one to follow was Ganguly, who again failed to match the pace of the horse and got run out. All these are documented, you can check it. Å¢ll the Indian players knew that there was a horse on the field for Sachin, he further disclosed, Å©arbhajan Singh, who was the 12th man in the match, used to bring green grass laced with Horlicks for the horse after each over. The horse did all the running for Sachin. Afridi claimed that Sachin scored as many as 63 runs while riding a horse, which was a blatant violation of ICC rules and proved that Sachin was not any great batsman. Ÿho knows he might have used the same horse to score his double century in the ODI against South Africa last year, Afridi alleged. Afridi said that he was silent all these years as Pakistan eventually went on to win the match. Ũod punished them for using unfair means, he said, Å£ut Sachin was riding the horse even while fielding. ItÃÔ such a shame that I was declared out caught by Sachin riding a horse. The former Pakistani captain, who is currently under conditional retirement, claims that he will disclose more such startling truths in his upcoming autobiography named ŧrom the horseÃÔ mouth?

Didn't question Sachin Tendulkar's greatness: Shahid Afridi Just a day after claiming that he saw Sachin Tendulkar's legs trembling while facing Shoaib Akhtar, Pakistan's former captain Shahid Afridi has now stated that he did not intend to question the Indian batting icon's greatness and was only talking about one incident. "I am not denying what I have said. I have seen that Tendulkar was not at all comfortable against Shoaib in Kolkata Test in 1999. It was Shoaib's first tour of India and he bowled out Sachin without giving him a chance to open his account. He also claimed (Rahul) Dravid's wicket in both the innings," Afridi told 'PTI-Bhasha' from Karachi. "Shoaib was in full form on that tour and had tremendous speed. He terrorised almost all the batsmen in the world at that time. I have seen Sachin trembling as I was fielding at square leg. I am still saying that. "But this was only one incident. He never spared Shoaib after that. We all have seen what happened in 2003 World Cup," he added. Afridi went on to state that the Indian batsman does not need his certificate. "Sachin is one of the best batsmen and the whole world knows this. He does not need mine or anybody else's certificate. His records speak for him," Afridi said. The controversy-prone former captain yesterday backed his Akhtar's claim that Tendulkar was uncomfortable against his pace, saying that he had once witnessed the Indian batsman "trembling" while facing the pacer. Afridi, who retired after revolting against his own board and has a history of making controversial remarks, said Tendulkar was uneasy against Akhtar, a claim which the pacer made in his recently-launched autobiography 'Controversially Yours'. Afridi said his remarks should not be construed as demeaning to Tendulkar. "I am not raising any question on Sachin's greatness. Everyone knows that how many sixes Sachin has smashed on Shoaib's bowling after that. But sometimes it happens. I got out on a duck against a weak opponent like Zimbabwe in Peshawar when I was at the peak of my career," he said. "Any batsman can go through this on a good wicket and opposite a good bowler. That was Shoaib's day and Sachin was nervous that day. Media should not read much into it as it can happen to Don Bradman as well," added the all-rounder. Afridi said he is a huge fan of Tendulkar both on and off the field. "I am a huge fan of Sachin. He is not only a great cricketer but a humble human being as well. I have only one photograph on the wall of my drawing room and that is of Sachin. It has Sachin's autograph on it, do I need to say more," said Afridi. When asked if he will talk to Tendulkar to clarify his position on this issue, he said that there is no need for it. "The whole matter is blown out of proportion by Indian media. Sachin is a great cricketer and he will understand what I am saying. I have not said anything wrong," he said. "Media should play a positive role to reduce tension between the two neighbours. When we went to play the World Cup in India earlier this year, We saw all the negative reporting against Pakistani team. Indians love and respect us but not their media," he said. On the possibility of his comeback in international Cricket, he said that he wants to play for another two-three years. "Inshah Allah, I will be back in national team. I think I can play for 2-3 years. I am not going to beg for it but I know that I will represent Pakistan again," said Afridi. http://www.hindustantimes.com/Didn-t-question-Sachin-Tendulkar-s-greatness-Shahid--Afridi/Article1-752683.aspx

Lol, Afridi answering a question which no-one asked. He might have been expecting a huge media controvers and people questioning him and he had his answer ready. Even when no one made a big-deal out of it, he himself came with the clarification

Media should not read much into it as it can happen to Don Bradman as well," added the all-rounder incidentally Ajit wadekar reacting to afridi's comments on tendulkar had said that thankfully Don Bradman is not playing in this era otherwise , even he wouldn't have been spared. Afridi showed that he can do just that :finger:
