rkt.india Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Nobody ever considers that perhaps the Indians are not physically trained enough to sustain high speeds. They always want to have this romantic view that management is holding these speedsters down. Yes, you are right, but training can be done. There is not secret to it. fast bowlers need lot of training to bowl fast. But I can tell you , Yadav himself said this in an interview during IPL that he is asked to bowl fast by Daredevils management and he is doing this. I Have seen Aaron bowling 140+ consistently in a One day game in Devdhar trophy.
bulbul Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Have you personally watched the matches you are talking about, do you know the conditions , the pitches he was bowling on???? Answer is NO. My Point is when a guy is doing well here , who has bit of pace in him, it;'s people like you who come and warrant the selection of VK's PK's & Munaf and that makes my blood BOIL. So keep this thought to yourself, if he has done well he should be given a chance, it's that simple . FYI he is the top wicket taker in the tournament till now.
msb1991 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 You seem to have forgotten all the series where he has failed after giving opportunities. England should be a bowlers paradise' date=' he failed there !!! Ishant / Zaheer bowled well in England, for that matter even PK bowled well in patches. But VK & Munaf were utterly rubbish.[/quote'] Ishant bowled well? What series were you watching? Nechim has done well in T20 so he should be given a chance in ODIs. I do not buy that logic. The formats are totally different. The conditions should not matter. If you put a genuine quick in front of Indian domestic batsmen for 10 matches, they would absolutely destroy if they were any good. I do not deny that he is good. But if he is good, he will have no problem doing well over the next season. VK was poor but PK and Munaf have served India well. They have served India far better than Yadav did when he was given his chance.
Crookbond Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Agree. Seems we are getting deluded in the hope of finding an express bowler. Only Varun and Aaron are right arm fast. It remains to be seen if they what it takes to get wickets at international level. Abu Nechim is ordinary in pace and talent IMO. His record in domestic is modest. Aren't both the same bowler? :hmmmm:
msb1991 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Yes' date=' you are right, but training can be done. There is not secret to it. fast bowlers need lot of training to bowl fast. Moreover, when I talk about sustaining high speeds, I mean over a few years. Fatigue can have quite the effect.
nsareen Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 you want a bowler who can take wickets only in conditions suits to him....if he didnt got wickets in Batsmen friendly wickets its fine :hysterical: Dude, why don;t you put your head in a box filled with ICE, some sense will prevail. I feel stupid explaining to people like you , why Nechim should be given a Go. There is something in this world called as LEARNING. In short Nechim is LEARNING if he is bowling well, on pitches suiting him or not, doesn't matter, you still gotta take wickets. If you have that in you, it;s good for the team, it's simple. Now about Nechim;s record, well i never saw a genuine pacer coming from India who has an exceptional Domestic Record.
msb1991 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Now about Nechim;s record' date=' [b']well i never saw a genuine pacer coming from India who has an exceptional Domestic Record. What genuine pacers are you talking about?
rkt.india Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Aaron can bowl fast in an OD game' date=' but can he bowl fast in a 4 day game? It is quite a step up. Moreover, when I talk about sustaining high speeds, I mean over a few years. Fatigue can have quite the effect.[/quote'] yes you right, but no bowler except a few bowl consistently quick in every spell. They slow down to conserve. All bowl quick in patches and then it depends on their fitness and stamina as well. Even England bowlers did not bowl quick whole day but when mattered they were quick and pressurized Indian batting with pace and accuracy. No bowler can sustain 90 mph whole day, 20-25 overs a day, but a bowler need to have pace so that whenever need arises he can press the paddle. A bowler needs to know when to go flat out and when to conserve a long day of test cricket.
VRV Singh Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Calling speed gun fanatics, please note that these ones clocked Rusty Theron at 141kph. In any case, just watch the bowling rather than hyperventilating about phasht, for god's sake
nsareen Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 What genuine pacers are you talking about? Well the pacers who could bowl upto 90mph IMO. Srinath, Zaheer and Nehra all could do it in their prime. But none had an exception domestic record to show, they din;t make domestic batsman piss in their pants. It's only when they played more, they got groomed and developed skills. Zaheer agrees himself, he was a different bowler until he went to County Cricket in England. Well i have my reasons , you guys have your;s lets keep it this way.

In any case, just watch the bowling rather than hyperventilating about phasht, for god's sake Ok Dude, we watched the bowling and say what " nechim took 3 wickets in 3 overs, well done. Hey can he bowl at decent pace, absolutely, Does he have variations , absolutely, then why don't we try him out, absolutely" this would be an extract of a conversation between selectors, if those selectors were not Indian. That's the Irony.

In any case, just watch the bowling rather than hyperventilating about phasht, for god's sake But Theron can bowl 140, what are you on about yaar. Theron is fast medium. This is not the first time he clocked 141. His effort deliveries can clock 140s.

Nehra's breakthrough was 2000/1 and he took 54 wickets at 17.54. Looking more relevantly at OD cricket. For Delhi, Nehra has 36 wickets at 26.88 and 10 for North Zone at 35.70. Zaheer only played prolonged OD cricket for Worcestershire but again, he did well with 28 wickets at 16.07.

Moreover the upcoming fast bowlers are all from Plate division, not the Super League, there is a huge difference on the surfaces these people play on. So frankly i would not buy this.

Yaar if you only want to go with stats than Jogi has an average of 20 and SR of 40, VK has an average of 24 and there are many more like these in domestic cricket. Cummins does not have any record still being picked by Australia.
