saneindian Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 India batsman Virat Kohli apparently hurt his left thumb while playing for his team Royal Challengers Bangalore in a Champions League Twenty20 match against South Australia Redbacks here on Wednesday. Kohli made a diving effort while trying to save a boundary in the 17th over of South Australia's innings. He failed to stop the ball, hit by Daniel Harris off the bowling of Dirk Nannes, and in the process injured his left thumb. Kohli, who has been named in the squad for India's five-match home ODI series against England starting October 14, left the field and was seen getting some ice treatment on his swollen left thumb from coach Ray Jennings at the sidelines.http://cricketnext.in.com/news/kohli-injures-thumb-while-playing-in-clt20/60629-13.html Not sure how serious the injury is but its the true test of all the recent talk that BCCI has been doing on their seriousness about handling these issues. Walk the talk BCCI and stop Kohli from playing in CLt20 so that he doesn't aggravate the injury and misses the Eng ODIs.
WC2011INDIA Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011  Who is going to replace Virat? 1) Saurabh Tiwary 2) David Dhawan 3) Badrinath
Pagalpanti Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 He played the innings of the tournament right after that, so I don't think it is a serious injury.
Stuge Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 how did he manage to pull out such a blinder after getting injured :hmmm:
Trichromatic Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Walk the talk BCCI and stop Kohli from playing in CLt20 so that he doesn't aggravate the injury and misses the Eng ODIs. Why make so much effort for meaningless international matters? I can bet that he will play SF in CL even if that means missing ODIs against England.
