Control will come as he plays. It is the coach's job to work on his control with pace which needs methodical practice.

chainsmoker1985 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I won't blame Yadav, it was that sort of match where every bowler was down by about 5 ks. Even Pattinson was under 140 many-a-times. Has to do something with the conditions. And Umesh was also confused like other Indian bowlers what to do. He actually listens a lot, I think. A lots of advices are coming his way to maintain the line and length and keeping the ball up. But, pace wise, he was ok. His pace was not down at all. Difference of 3-4 ks can be due to conditions and team situation. It was that sort of chaotic innings where whatever you do, you just can't buy a single wicket, no matter how many times you beat the bat. I remember, he was getting a great reverse swing for a brief period but then Dhoni removed him soon.

The real problem is with Ishant Sharma, who after 43 Tests can neither take wickets consistently nor stem the flow of runs. An average of almost 37 is simply not good enough.

He sure looks different, but just :nervous: Ishant never performed and took wickets like this when he started.not even Irfan. Yes Sreesanth took but we all know about his mental fragility.
Number Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 hopefully he'll work on his control , he has got good things like seam direction , wrist position , pace , athleticism but with this control it'll take only 1 game for critics to label him as bad ... so India will have to be have some patience with him . good bowling today ..:two_thumbs_up:
