I keep getting scared I'll brick my phone :nervous: Also need to back up all my apps, etc. Talking about that. Anyone know a good app which will automatically back up pics (for free of course)

You are not going to hard brick your phone while rooting and its safe to do..you can even unroot later and you wont's loose data while rooting. Try titatanium backup from blapmarket Sent from my GT-S5570 using Tapatalk

Rooting will keep my phone in tact i.e. the way everything is setup (homescreens), apps, pics, contacts? Watched the event video Actually loving the device now. So happy they added the 'save for offline reading' feature to the browser

Yes,rooting will give your superuser permissions and will install superuser app. You can find the superuser app on your app drawer if your rooting is successful.

I have come out of the most fked up situations while trying to rom it, so its very rare to completely brick it and titanium backup with put in intact. I have started actually buying some important apps too I like this phone, and ICS looks very good - this whole thing is moving so fast, already heard S III will come out

I heard SGII are pretty good with stock roms unlike the HTC mobile with must have custom roms for good performance. It's good to use Nandroid image backup before flashing any new roms http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-perform-and-restore-a-nandroid-backup/ I wonder how they are going to flash custom rom in SG Nexus without a SD card slot.
I've looked at rooting before and come to sites with details on h-boot, radio off and all other nonsense, which made no sense. Are one-click rooting apps good?
My phone was one click rooting by flashing a zip file in recovery mode. I have no idea what method your phones follows, must check at xda site or samfirmware.
