J P K Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Former Australia legend Shane Warne has refused to rule out making a return to professional cricket after receiving "lots of offers" to play in the upcoming Big Bash competition. The leg-spinner, 42, retired from cricket five months ago after competing in his fourth Indian Premier League campaign, but offers to play in the new eight-team Australian T20 series have prompted thoughts of a comeback. "I'm the fittest I've been in my life and I'm still bowling pretty well the last time I bowled." Shane Warne Quotes of the week Warne has not played an elite level match in Australia since the January 2007 Ashes Test against England at the Sydney Cricket Ground, however he has hinted at a return to action in his homeland this winter. Warne told AAP: "As far as the Big Bash, there's been a lot of offers for it. I haven't had a chance to catch up, so I haven't really sat down and done the pros and cons and see if I want to do it. "Or, is it a great way to give something back to Australian cricket, when they are starting something new, as a great way to help younger players, I don't know?" The Victorian, who has not bowled in a competitive match since May, also insisted fitness would not be an issue despite his advancing years. "I'm the fittest I've been in my life and I'm still bowling pretty well the last time I bowled," Warne said. The Big Bash League starts on December 16. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,12175_7250623,00.html

He was overweight as a player and liked his food. Looks like ****ing Liz Hurley is great motivation to get into peak physical condition.

ganeshran Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Big bash is just 4 overs, how much fitness does that take. Plus he is a big draw and popular with the crowds.
