Virender Sehwag rubbishes Chappell remarks on Sachin JHAJJAR: Rubbishing former Indian coach Greg Chappell's remarks about batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, Indian batsman Virender Sehwag has said that Sachin had piled a heap of runs while facing the fiercest pace attack from West Indies, Pakistan and Australia. "Had it been the case with Sachin, could he play cricket for such a long time? He began his career while facing top pacers like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Yunus in Pakistan. West Indies pace attack was still ferocious when he started piled runs", Sehwag said while addressing a press conference in his cricket academy in Jhajjar on Saturday. Chappell had remarked in his book that Sachin had been in mentally fragile state at occasions. This came in the aftermath of Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar claim that Sachin was scared of facing him. Stating that such statements are absurd without any substance, Sehwag said that these remarks are being made for obvious reasons (of seeking publicity). "Everybody knows the intention behind such statements", he said. The dashing Indian batsman however promised to tap cricketing talent from Haryana which is known for producing champions in boxing, wrestling and hockey so far in the international sports arena. Sehwag who originally belongs to Chhudani village of Jhajjar district in Haryana selected eight young bowlers in a talent hunt programme at his sports academy in Jhajjar on Saturday. These budding bowlers which include a girl would be provided free of cost coaching during the summer camp at the academy. Viru had thrown a challenge that whoever managed to clean bowled him would be given free coaching in his academy. He faced 120 youngsters who had registered at the academy in the first come first basis in an open session and each of them were given the opportunity to bowl one ball to him but nobody could bowled him in three hour long session. Later, he said, "It is difficult to spot the talent on the basis of one bowl, but I have time restrictions and also wanted to give opportunity to maximum number of youngsters. I tried to spot the talent during the session and selected eight youngsters", he said adding that he would further held talent hunt programme to promote cricket talent in Haryana.
